I attended a christian school growing up and I attended church on sundays as a kid. I was always too afraid to ask questions back then but now these questions need to be answered.

- I use to pray very hard as a kid and to my disappointment no answer was given. God obviously has no idea how much a simple hello can change a lonely kids day. What is the point of having a "father" who does not communicate with his children?

- Why did god need to test adam and eve? They were enjoying themselves in eden and I'm sure they wouldn't have done anything wrong if they'd been left in the environment. Why did god want to test them? Test them for what? It seems almost like god was bored with watching them enjoy themselves so he decided to entertain himself. What do others think? Please reply.

Asking questions is good.

Maybe He did answer and you didn't realise it, remember God often comes as a gentle whisper, not some booming voice from the heavens. God tends to answer through humans, so maybe that's why you're here, maybe someone will give you the answer you're looking for here.

Well it would seem God did not want Adam and Eve to have "knowledge of good and evil", so He told them not to eat from it presumably for their own good. God wasn't testing them He was warning them, and they didn't listen and disobeyed Him.

God tested Adam and Eve because of freewill. God didn't want to force or make adam stay in the garden so He gave him a choice between good and evil. Now Adam and Eve, being typical humans chose to disobey, and were therefore banished from the garden of Eden.

There are three answers to prayer. Yes. No. Wait.

And they do as has been said come in a variety of modes for answerment.

Further in James 1 it says: 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways, will receive anything from the Lord.

We must ask with expecation.

God was not testing Adam and Eve. I've quoted this before: God cannot temp to virtue as the devil can tempt to vice. C.S. Lewis in the Screwtape Letters where he goes on to say that God must woo us in love. God did, however, have to allow satan the opportunity to tempt A & E.

God does not want robots. There is no addition to the glory of His worship if there is no free will. God didn't have to create us in the first place, but wanted to :) He has no need of us, but we are here to exalt him to the utmost. He is relational and seeks us out.

The Lord truly does talk to us, we just have to be listening to Him. God doesn't always speak with the voice of thunder and lightning.

In Samuel's life things were actually quite different. At a young age when he lived with Eli, the Lord came to him one night, talking to him. He thought it was Eli. If the voice wasn't one that seemed so simple then do you think that he wouldn't have so easily confused it with Eli?

The Lord also talks to us through circumstances. He may never use an actual word with us, not the kind you hear aloud anyways, and simply work through the various trials in our life.

He also works through that small still leading in our hearts. The Holy Spirit is always there to speak and guide, provided that we are willing to listen.

And then you never know, maybe the Lord truly wasn't talking to you; but for a purpose. There is a character in the OT, one that I can't think of at the moment, whome the Lord actually hid His face from. All things are done for the good of those who love the Lord; even the things that make no sense at all.

Just remember, that if you Honestly seek the face of God, then by time you are close enough to hear His wispers He will have you in His arms. Look for the Lord in all things, and you will find how His voice speaks to you.
