  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've heard that organ donating are sinful, because our bodies are temples of God. This topic kinda' confuses me, because I just got finished watching something interesting on discovery health. A seven year old child was a human vegetable, and he gave away all his organs, because he wasn't gonna be needing them, and there were other children who were saved because of his donation. What do you guys think? any bible scriptures to support your opinion?
Peace out, and God bless.

I agree with the bumper sticker. Don't take your organs to heaven, heaven knows we need them here.

Since God's going to give us each a brand new body when He comes again we're not going to need them moldering 'intact' in the grave.

That sounds good to me. I've never seen that bumper sticker. I guess the whole thing about our body being a temple of God and that we should take care of it, is implied to our time here on earth.

lol, there's a constant debate between my sister and I about this subject. She's all into the idea that everything that a jehova witness member does is right, and unquestionable....yet she doesn't really practice that religion, or any other religion for that matter. But, anyways I also feel that it is right to donate organs, I just can't get it through her head.

Good on you for trying. I hope your sister (or more likely your family) is never in the position that her organs are harvestable. I mean to say that she have a long life. Most organ donations come from sudden death.

Well im one who feel's that my organs stay with my dead body.

I do realize that ppl have a second chance but i feel Jesus died on the cross for healing and if we do this then we make his death to no avail.
A have seen no scriptures to go against donating organs and would like to see some fors and against.

Good Question Stefania

God Bless

It's not sin because it doesn't spring from the heart(it's not to kill etc...).
But it can be a special..temptation because of to sin because are we that want it..............
Therefore I think that a synthetic organ is very good in a christian society.

Well thank you. I especailly feel very fortunate to be here right now. I just came back from being in a car accident. If I wasn't wearing my seatbelt, I would be hanging out with the Lord...but I guess it's to early for me, and I've got a long life ahead of me. My boyfriend was the driver, and he is also fine...though the car is destroyed. But, thanks be to the Lord, we are still alive and well.:amen:

I firmly believe in divine healing, but sometimes the vehicle for that divine healing is through doctors and medical science. We can't take them with us, and donating organs can offer MANY other people the chance at life. [bible]John 15:13[/bible]

Say Bill Gates' kid and I have the same rare blood type and the kid needs a transplant. Say I am brought into UofW Hospital from a bad car wreck. What are the chances of my recovery?
Why Bill Gates's kid. What makes him/her any different from any other child?

I don't see anything wrong with organ donation. If you are dead, you won't need your organs anymore, so why not help somebody else with them. As far as your body being the Temple of God, I agree with that. But, I don't see where that pertains to organ donations.

what a wonderful reminder, and thanks for posting this for others to think about.once gone from here,we turn into dust in the ground stefania.I'd like to know who/where you heard organ donation is evil. tell that to the parents of a child that is dying and needs an organ as another human has already left this life and is gone to the other.

It's just that a lot of people think that Jehovahs witnesses are like the holiest people in the world. They don't believe in organ donations though, because our bodies are temples of God..and I guess they just take a lot of things from the bible too literally. You've got a great point with this post, but it's hard getting others to believe that this is the way it is, ya know?
Thanks for your reply, and may God bless you.
