Well, I live in Tulsa and that place creeps me out. I especially enjoy driving by Robertsland and seeing all the idols, er, little moments and buildings (the empty 80 story golden hoipital he built because 'God told him to' is a nice touch). I had a prof that used to teach there, he didn't think to much of their religious fanaticism.

I knew people that went there and none seemed to complain, I'm sure if you are a schizophrenic fundie, it's a great place to be.

Faith
Protestant
Oral Roberts , Gypsy Smith , Billy Sunday revivalists , who set up camp meetings
all over the United States , to wake up the church , to return to Jesus , to
speak to mountains in their lives , to believe that God still heals , intervenes ,
and calls men to do his work .

Oral was one of the many " faith healers " who had a proveable gift ,
good track record . He founded a ministry , carried on by his son
within the Word of Faith movement .

Faith .... if Isaiah 53.3 , Matthew 8.17 , and 1 Peter 2.24 say
by the stripes of Jesus you will be healed , are healed , and continue
to be healed , then sickness is spiritual junk mail you do not have
to receive , for out of the mouth of 2-3 witnesses , will your words
(doctrine ) be established ...

I am going there now. It is a little oh... to put it lightly extra-terestrial and the people can be a little strange but all in all it is nice going to a school that a least knows God's presence. I transferred here from 3 other schools and one thing that I did notice is that either all conversations start with "God told me" or (at least in the girls dormitory ) "There's this one guy", the truly great convos start with, God told me theres this one guy......

i'm currently here at oru, and yes it is a strange place, but strange can be good. for me i knew it was a place i could come and grow in my faith away from my family and the pressures i had at home. im not staying here for next year, but i have enjoyed my time here. and yeah! a ton of the conversations start with "God told me..." its kinda amusing. but hey, if Gods speakin' then who am i to disagree. its a great place to get closer to God, though by the look of the retro 60's building, it could also be a good place to wait for the mother ship to return. lol!
