Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

From what I have studied:
The burnt offering is called the Olah in Hebrew. Olah in Hebrew means that which goes up and refers to the smoke of the offering as it rises toward Heaven.
After the Olah was slain, the head was burned immediately by the kohein. The legs and the entrails were washed before burning. This practice is rich in symbolism. An example of the Olah can be found in the NT in Ephesians 4:15-24.
"But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Messiah: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love."
When something needs to be washed, it is because it needs to be cleaned. In the above verse we see that Messiah is the Head. The head of the Olah was not washed prior to being burned. Messiah was sinless and pure and did not need purifying. Therefore, in the head of the Olah we see a symbol of Messiah.
The body of His believers, however, does need to be purified.
Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious assembly, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:25-27

On the subject of burnt offering. When you take a look at the reasons for burnt offerings, it seems to be because you have refused temptations, you have chosen to do good, and so it is like the positive side of the equation. While Christ's sin sacrifice is for the curse of the law, the burnt offerings are for the blessings.

Out of the love from in your heart.
I can understand where the two offerings can be confused and bunched together. It seems that one sacrifice can be used for both purposes.
There is always an order to the offerings... first the sin offering then the burnt offering.
Those are just some of the things I noticed.

What they were dealing with in this case was a certain type of sin...the sin of ignorance.
There is always an order to the offerings... first the sin offering then the burnt offering.

I think that it is important to add that the insence could only be lit with the embers of the Olah - the insence representing the prayers of the saints going up to God. So would this imply that in order for the prayers of God's people to be heard they must first commit themselves to him and repent? I believe so. Hence the reason the Shema was also said day and night.

We are so sacrifice ourselves that we may live for Him. The most zealous have a passion for the needy, the homeless, helpless, and vunerable. They fight for others' rights, fight against injustice who have no advocates, and are consumed with the ideals. Is their life not a burnt offering?
