Onyx (mineral) and bad connotations

Hello readers,

I am here to post my questions about the mineral Onyx, or chalcedony.

I've been trying to figure out whether or not this stone, (black) onyx, has a negative background through christian history.

I have a special liking to the stone due to personal meanings, even though i am a christian and i am aware of it's quasi spiritual use in other believes, i'd like to have some jewelry in the form of wedding rings etc

I know of some mentions in the bible about the black onyx as well as some catholic rosaries using this type of mineral.

So what can you tell/advise me for the use of this mineral ?

Don't worship it.

That's it. "Bad connotations" are assigned to objects by humans. Such things are meaningless

As long as you're not worshiping something in place of God, you're good. It can still hold personal and sentimental value and all that jazz as long as you keep it in perspective.
