You and I cannot be Christians if we are unwilling to look like fools. We should never be fools in a world that calls evil good and good evil, that puts darkness for light and light for darkness and bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter [Isa 5:20]
This world is turned upside down, and we must be willing to appear foolish. Jesus told us, Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of man also be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father [Mark 8:38].
When Jesus comes back, his glory will be obvious.Talking about him then will be no triumph of faith. Hell be in all the headlines and talk shows. Right now is the test of our Christian authenticity.
It takes courage to evangelize our own families and colleagues and neighborhoods, because our friends dont want to hear the gospel.
They want to hear about the latest craze.
The human heart is impervious [ incapable of being penetrated] to the gospel. And this creates an atmosphere pressuring us to keep quiet, to keep our heads down.
And yet, even if we send missionaries to all the nations of the earth and we must, but dont evangelize our own friends right here, no matter how many missionaries we send elsewhere, are we really faithfu? Its not a matter of scaling back foreign missions; its a matter of becoming bold evangelists ourselves.
