  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

“Tell me how much you know of the sufferings of your fellowmen and I will tell you how much you have loved them.” HELMUT THIELICKE

Luke 10:38-42 NAS …….share this with me.

Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to his word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord do You not care that my sister had left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.”
But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Jesus told Martha that, “only one thing is necessary.” What is that one thing? Today I have arrived to a different perspective on what Jesus meant by “one thing.” Before when I read this verse of Scripture I thought that the “one thing” was what Mary had chosen, and that was to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to His word. Jesus said it is the “good part,” but He did not say that it was the “one thing necessary.” If Mary, chose the “good part” than there must be another part. That other part in this situation must be the service. It’s fine and wonderful to have the opportunity to sit and listen to great sermons, but someone has to turn the lights on, sweep the floors, clean the bathrooms, and prepare the food for dinners. So back to my question of what is the “only” one thing that is necessary? Could it be that Jesus was saying to Martha that she only needed to prepare “one thing” to eat? No doubt there were several people traveling with Jesus, and to just drop in on someone required some work on behalf of the hosts. Martha was distracted with “all her preparations,” and maybe Jesus was telling her that it would be all right to just keep it simple, she did not need to prepare many different plates for all the people, just one would be fine. Maybe if we keep it simple we could get in on more of the “good part” that Jesus spoke of. The good part in my life is, knowing Jesus, the finished work of the Cross, and the great love and grace that the Father has bestowed upon each of us. I am grateful, and may I learn to keep it simple and have the “good part” also. God is doing for me what I could not do for myself………………..JRE

LOVE FOR GOD’S FAMILY

Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us.
Ephesians 5:2

The passion for fullness is a passion fired by love, for love of Christ, love for God’s Word, and a loving will to learn greater love for all the members of the vast family of our Father. Jesus himself established the criteria for our mutual acceptance: “He who is not against us is on our side” (Mark 9:40).
He is the Church because He is the Savior. Ours is to learn to love one another, because we have been “so loved.”
