The worlds ONLY original FW-190 in flying condition has arrived at Microsoft co-founder Paul Allens' Flying Heritage Collection in Everett, Washington yesterday and has begun the process of reassembly (they trucked it up from Arizona). I went down yesterday and today after work to see the aircraft and take some pics. FHC will have an unveiling event tomorrow morning at opening, which I will be attending, of course. It will be flying June 18th for its debut in the PNW. Also flying that day will be the museums P-51D Mustang. Later in the flying season they will have "Luftwaffe Day" in which they will fly their Fieseler Storch, Messerschmitt Bf-109E-3 Emil and the new Focke-Wulf 190 A5. Hopefully between now and then the starts will align and I will be able to catch some certification flights. The museum also features the worlds only surviving Focke-Wulf 190 D13 Dora. It is airworthy, however, it will not be flown.
It is really quite a sight to behold. Yesterday the entire museum shook and rattled as the museum on the other side of the runway ran its North American B-25D Mitchell up to full power, prior to its first flight of the season. Speaking of Mitchell's, this same museum (FHC) will be receiving yet another new member, a B-25J Mitchell.
These are from yesterday...
