Is Gone, Not here.
My only friend
I knew, so dear

I can still remember her
Her every feature
I was afraid to hurt
This delicate little creature

Her hair was chestnut brown
Her eyes an amber green
She was very, very graceful
And never, ever mean.

Our moms had bonded over the years
We were always together
No matter what happened to all of us
Nothing was too much to weather.

My only friend is gone
Not here
My only friend
I had.

Wrote this a couple years ago when I was missing my best friend Bethie. We haven't seen each other for years. Talked on the phone a little recently, but I miss her so much. I wrote it to sound childish - like it was a child who was missing her playmate.

You seem to have a recurring theme:

short and choppy near the end.

I can't quite comment on everything else. It's somewhat.....nothing special. You did a good job, but from a critiquing standpoint, yeah.

Maybe I am not really that good on the whole critiquing thing but I really enjoyed this poem...it clearly displayed feeling and love. I found it quite a joy to read!! I believe it displayed the picture/meaning you meant it to. Keep on going Kaylee!
