  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

If the world were united under one government and a religion was to be established or regulated how should it be done?

It shouldn't. I don't want anyone (nor will I allow them to) tell me how I should worship divinity. My religion is my own and its no one else's place, especially not the government, to tell me how I should worship or what religion I should practice.

Over my dead body and the dead bodies of all people of conscience and courage. And likely quite a few bodies of those with only one or even neither.

I don't think it would be possible to have one religion, but one government....only if there was a big enough threat that would convince the countries of the world it would be in there best interest to give up some or all of their sovereignty. And even then there will be hold outs, so I can't see it happening.

Ask the Anti-Christ, the dragon, and the Mother of Prostitution.

Agreed. The day we're united under one religion is the day people better get in their hole and stay there while the world destroys itself because of the preceding Armageddon (whether you believe in it spiritually or not, there will be something similar in that environment).

It shouldnt be done, everyone should just be able to believe whatever religion(s) they want (or no religion)

Belief is not a choice. A person believes in what they believe in, not what they want to believe.

It is not only threats that form a unified government. Did all the united States become part of the United States because of another threat or was it for mutual benefit?

Exactly, which is why there should never be one world religion, because not everybody believes the same thing, and since its not a choice what you believe, it would be unfair to try to force one religion on the whole world.

I imagine that eventually, if humanity survives, there could be a one central world government. I don't believe that would ever be the case for a single religion, nor is it something I desire.

Religion, faith, and personal beliefs should never be dictated by the government (or anyone else for that matter).

Rather than a single religion, I envision a society that is respectful of all spiritual beliefs. At least this something for which I wish.

The reasons you give for why it shouldn't happen are the reasons why it won't happen.

Trust it would never happen however if you accept that it could than it has already. Our new Gods names are Coca Cola, Starbucks, etc.
