[ONE WHO REMAINS]

The vision of this world that God has for us, what is it. Where will be the end. What does he want us to accomplish together, being that were all Christians?

God has a plan for us all. In this day in age, we are all concerned over the 1st Place.
We want the car. We want the nice house. We want to live in financial safety.
We want what we see on TV. So in that we all trust in GODS word, why do we still yearn for these temptations?
Because the devil has us wrapped up in 1st. First place in all competitions and games gets all the rewards and has it easy. So knowing this we struggle throughout life to reach this non existing place.
See doing that right there takes our focus off of GOD. Maybe not completely but enough for satan to get his foot in the door to do some damage.
Instead of us worrying about what GOD wants we tell ourselves that if we could just be more financialy secure than it would be easier to worship GOD. We'd have more time and money to give to him.
Wrong.
In this lose lose race we're wrapped up in the true meaning of life. Time is limitted on earth for us, so what little we can accomplish for GOD, we should.
The reason we are here is to worship him and help lead those that are lost to him. So the more time we focus on 1st, the less time we have to better ourselfs spirritually, and to save others.
Its funny, even those that surrounded Jesus night and day, the desciples, even went to him and asked "which of us is holier than the next?". Even those around him were wrapped up in the 1. He said to be first in line you must put yourself last.
And that is how, our lives need to be. Put us last and him first. Thats the secret to winning the race. We dont get first place, the devil doesnt tell us the only one who can get first is GOD. You take last and give GOD first and than you are on the path of rightesnous.

Good message for us, One Who Remains. This is something I always have to keep in check, and to be honest, with me at least, it's not always that easy to keep the perspective with all the pressures of life.

When I focus on the real 1, I realize (like Paul) that He must increase and I must decrease.

I'm reminded of the song "Turn your Eyes upon Jesus...and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace."

Both this Scripture and that song have been coming to mind on a regular basis. Thanks for the thread and post.

Thanks, One Who Remains. A wise man once told me that the more we focus on God, the less we focus on the world, and the more we focus on the world, the less we focus on God. I'm trying to get back to the point where I pray for at least an hour every day. Even when I was doing that, though, it was clear that one hour wasn't enough. I found that by denying myself, I was reminded of God and felt that I was living my life for Him. We have to watch out for little transgressions, because they will blind us to the little sacrifices that are possible, and often lead us into serious sin. That's been my experience anyway, and I've been down this road more than twice. Anyway, thanks for the post! God bless!
