one true church

I have a question, a good friend of mine who is catholic mentioned something about catholisism being the one true church- meaning that all others are not. Can you explain this to me? Scriptural stuff would be great too! Thanx!!

Christ only created one Church. All Christians can trace the existence of thier denomination or church back to one Church, the Catholic Church. It really is that simple.

Christ established a Church, not Churches and through baptism- all are joined to the body of Christ mystically. Christ's Church is both, not either/or. She is a visible, divine institution with a magisterium, the city built on a hill that can not be hidden, who has been given the keys of the kingdom to teach the faithful. She is also the invisible body of Christ. One who has been baptized in Christ is catholic even if they aren't Catholic.

Hi, Codeman.

The Bible, which is a collection of books (scrolls, actually) was compiled by the Catholic Church in the 4th century.

Find online (or in some archival libraries in Europe [Rome, Mount Athos..] or Asia (Saint Catherine Monestery at Moint Sinaii]) the earliest bound single tome, from Genesis to Revelation, and know that THAT tome was bound by the Church, which acknowledges the Chair of Peter.
