One thing i've never understood (scripture relevance content)

It's well known that a lot of the bible are just stories and don't have any factual relevance to them.

So my confusion is, who decided (and how did they decide ) which scriptures are factual and fictional?

It's a question of getting a clue. Many places in the bible state that it is a parable, dream, vision, riddle or symbolic. If it is not logical, than it is most likly a parable.

If you ask me, they were all "relevant" at one point in time... then came the translations, now none of it is relevant as none of it can be proven as to be the "bible" that existed in the beginning. Beginning in this case being 2nd cent AD. At this point there were even various editions that were different from each other. So now when I hear "Jesus said to his disciples", I automatically add "Jesus MAY have said SOMETHING along these lines to the disciples".
