No, I don't think that un-born baby's can comprehend. That's why I think that we should wait until they can and then ask.You honestly think that non-sentient first-trimester fetuses are capable of comprehending and answering a question? You haven't actually studied fetal development, have you?
Also, is there any reason why you didn't reply to my post?
Troll?Troll.
Either that, or you:
a) Are genuinely dense.
b) Believe suicide is fine and dandy.
No, you never even replied to me.No, I don't think that un-born baby's can comprehend. That's why I think that we should wait until they can and then ask.
Oh... and I thought I did answer your question....lol
I actually responded to that directly in post #100No, you never even replied to me.
Here's my question, in case you forgot: "So you think that forcing women through pregnancy and childbirth (and thus treating pregnancy as a punishment) is a good thing, then?"
Please answer that question now. Thanks.
And what would you consider forcing a woman to carry a child that she does not want to term? A blessing?I actually responded to that directly in post #100
My response was....
"Nope... I have never thought of Childbirth as punishment. I'm sorry that you do."
As a matter of fact, Children are a blessing. And what would you consider forcing a woman to carry a child that she does not want to term? A blessing?
No they are not. But there are other reasons to get an abortion. One of our best friends is 43 with 3 kids that are all in college. Her husband's vasectomy reversed itself. She got pregnant. At that age, that is a high-risk pregnancy. Couple that with the crappy insurance she has and paying for 3 kids in college. So you are saying that she should have been forced to carry the child to term? They took precautions. They did everything they could to be responsible and not have anymore children. As a matter of fact, Children are a blessing.
Perhaps the woman should not do anything to get herself in that situation. And then when she does.... except the responsibility that goes with it. Not all women are rapped either.
I would be willing to bet that your 43 year old freind signed a document that stated that he understands that there was a chance that his vasectomy could posibly reverse itself so did he do everything posible to not have anymore children? No they are not. Oh, okay. Sorry. Must've overlooked that post.I actually responded to that directly in post #100

So couples that wish to remain child-free their whole lives long should just never have sex, then?I would be willing to bet that your 43 year old freind signed a document that stated that he understands that there was a chance that his vasectomy could posibly reverse itself so did he do everything posible to not have anymore children?
and for those that have not learned this yet....
Sometimes Sex causes Children. If you don't want children, don't have sex!
WOW... and that other poster called me dense!
Oh, okay. Sorry. Must've overlooked that post.
How can you not see pregnancy as a punishment, though, when you refer to it as "a consequence of having sex." Is "consequence" not another word for "punishment"?
And "result" is just another word for "consequence," so my point stands.Nope... perhaps consequence is the wrong word, but it is sometimes the result of having sex. See my last post for previntion instructions.
There are other ways to lessn the odds of having a baby, but it does beat killing their baby.So couples that wish to remain child-free their whole lives long should just never have sex, then?
Just because you think that children are a blessing doesn't mean that every woman out there should think that they're a blessing. Some women absolutely hate children. So why should those women have to carry every pregnancy they have to term?As a matter of fact, Children are a blessing.
Perhaps the woman should not do anything to get herself in that situation. And then when she does.... except the responsibility that goes with it. Not all women are rapped either.
I actually know a woman who got pregnant after her husband got a vasectomy. So those "other ways of lessening the odds" can still lead to pregnancy. Are you still not okay with a child-free couple getting an abortion if that happened to them? There are other ways to lessn the odds of having a baby, but it does beat killing their baby.
Yes, they did. The reversal rate is miniscule. They were responsible, married adults. They did everything right to have no more children. You are advocating that they spend thousands of dollars and the woman go through 9 months of forced pregnancy to have a child that neither of them wanted. If you were in that situation and decided to carry the child, so be it. But what gives you the right to make that decision for someone else?I would be willing to bet that your 43 year old freind signed a document that stated that he understands that there was a chance that his vasectomy could posibly reverse itself so did he do everything posible to not have anymore children?
Right. I don't want more children. So I just don't get to have sexual relations with my wife? What crap.and for those that have not learned this yet....

Makes me wonder if some Christians think that [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] are "evil."If you're having sex because you find it enjoyable, you're doing it wrong.
Trust me... this one isn't that heatedI'm going to try not to insert myself in the middle of the (apparently) heated argument going on right now, but I do want to voice my opinion on the matter. I like that abortion is an option for me if other pregnancy prevention efforts fail, I like that it is my choice, and I want it to be my choice for the rest of my life, though I hope I never have to make that choice (again). I firmly believe that I should be able to choose (which is the whole point of being pro-choice) whether or not I want to be pregnant, even after the fact, until the fetus is capable of surviving on its own outside the womb. As to the OP, I haven't got the faintest clue what gives people the impression that they have the right to legislate their beliefs on others and tell women what they can and can't do with their own bodies.
