On Rainy Days
On rainy days
I sit on my bed
And dream of what beyond
My windows that I see
And where I may be lead I may be lead.
I dream of things
That I may do
Of things to come
Or I hoped to come true
Of magic to come alive
Of Sir I to be named
Of honors that may be won
Through heroic deeds
Im brought back to reality
Only by the sound
Of the water on the window
And its sweet and lovely tune
That would only deaden the flame
Then I stare upon the hearth
Where the fire is shining red
And I think of not magic that is unseen
But all the life that grows green
Thats form is above my head
Their lives are like
A precious gift
Those are so beautiful to look upon
Yet we must take care of them
Or else they shall fade away
And we shall not see them
From that day
I gaze into the embers
Where heat is dieing so swiftly
And long for love untouched by time
Or the acceptance of the being
Who I care for above all else
Shes fair to me in every way
Her attitude, form, and thinking
For she is who I love the most
Whom I have known in friendship
But now I know
I have more feelings
For her then of that simple plight
Of thought inside my heart
I glare at the painting hanging on the wall
That shows a far away palace
And think how blessed I am
For there is a Lord
In heaven above
Who loves us all the unworthy
He cares for us
Whether we know it or not
And gave a way home
So one day we may be in paradise
That we may be with Him
I peer onto
The cover of
A book without a label
And think how a story begins
I wonder how
The author has
Such great ideas to write down
Into his large fable
My thoughts wander
Into the thought
If I should ever write one
And test my cunning wit and will
And put myself to the challenge
I glimpse a pile of paper stacked
And wonder why not start now
And reach for pencil and the stack
And start to drought this down
On rainy days
I sit on my bed
And dream of what beyond
My windows that I see
And where I may be lead I may be lead.
I dream of things
