This time its not a house exactly, but a condo. Its not large enough to have a big crowd for a house warming but the perfect size for us.

Now the fun part of painting, shopping and the not so fun - moving furniture begins.

Congratulations! Home is home... whether big or inbetween or small... it's your home that you both are a part of ... what a wonderful blessing. :) May there be lots of joy and laughter while you two fix it up the way you two want it to be. :) I have so much joy in imagining how much fun (and work) you two are going to have... building your new home together... that is a very important part of love... marriage.. family.

Thanks everyone. It looks like we will be a week ahead of schedule moving.

The place is 10 years old and a heavy - blind smoker/mechanic type must have lived there so we are having the entire place primed and repainted twice from top to bottom and all new floors to get rid of the tar. Its going to take 33 gallons of primer and paint but will be worth it. 2/3 of the paint is bought and in the garage and the crew starts work in the morning. The flooring guy comes and measures Monday and the movers the following Friday. We were running like chickens with our heads cut off all day in 105 degree heat and are just now settling down. We are loving the cathedral ceilings and sky lights in the new place. Its so bright in there its like the lights are turned on when they aren't. :)

Glad you all like it. Nice to have a crew doing the work!
Its a 30 hr job for a professional team of 3 and thats if they can apply a gallon an hour. Well out of my pay grade. They will be done before I even got started. Not to mention the ceilings are 18' high in places. I already fell off the step ladder reprogramming the garage door opener. I have done some flooring before but I'm afraid if I try it now, I might not be able to get back up. ^_^

Isa took some before pictures but I doubt they will really show just how nasty the tar and nicotine stains were.

How exciting! I remember moving from my parents' house to my apartment with my sister. I really HATED the packing but the decorating and making the space ours was a lot of fun :)

I detest moving. Every time I swear never again. This time, I think I will just hope never again. :)

Isa wouldn't let me make it a man cave. :(

Sean tried doing that with the basement-- but we share it with the people upstairs so it wouldn't have worked. He has, however, taken over my work desk and office chair, so he sorta has his man "nook" in the living room now. :D
