Judge Others. Jesus Said To.

Discuss.

Amen sir! When the improperly indoctrinated souls scream "judge not lest ye be judged" they are usually missing the point of that verse. We're not to judge the souls of men. That's the job of Jesus Christ our ultimate Judge. But we are specifically told to remove ourselves from "the world." How can we possible know what or who "the world" is unless we properly judge it/them by their actions, worldview, standards, and sense of values?

One of the reasons our nation is "going to hell in a hand basket" is because good men have chosen to look the other way as Satan and his minions have trashed all things moral and ethical. They're so afraid to properly judge the circumstances (and the men causing them) that they've become ineffective in stopping them. Their heads are so high in the clouds that they're of no earthly good. The salt has lost its savor.

I have a friend who just refuses to judge anyone reguardless of what they have done including raping, murder, etc because of that verse. She claims you can not see into their heart and that only Jesus can and I say oh yes you can because their actions comes from their heart and mind. It is like my mom taught me: there is a straight road and then all of a sudden you to a Y in the road and now you have to think and reason which Y to take. The wrong one or the right one. The wrong one is easier but there is a lot of anguish that goes along with it. The right one is harder but there is no anguish that goes along with it. There are times we all take the wrong road but as a believer we have Jesus Christ as a bridge who steers us into the right direction if we ask and believe in him and also He forgives us for going up the wrong road when we ask. AMEN!

A good portion of the modern church is content to simply sit in a corner with its hands folded doing nothing but waiting for Jesus' return. Many are petrified to stand up for God's truth and biblical values. We mustn't step on anyone's toes, after all. We mustn't judge the evil actions of evil men. That's a no-no. Just say NO to the "j" word. It's much better to be good, little Christian doormats.

Christ has another take on things.

Christ didn't take a backseat to the evildoers of His day. He stood toe to toe and eye to eye against the scribes and the Pharisees. He drove the money changers out of the temple and threw their tables over. He also spoke the following words to His disciples:

Matthew 5:13-15, "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house."

A Christian must be able to discern truth from fiction; light from darkness; right from wrong; etc. How can he possibly accomplish this without having the ability to judge? We all make judgement calls every day of our lives. The word "judge" isn't a bad word. It's simply the ability to make proper decisions and the ability to discern.

John 7:24, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

Paul had no problem with other judging him:

1 Corinthians 4:3, "But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self."

Amen AJ! However, the tightrope between condemnation and evaluation or judgement as Matthew calls it, is a FINE line to walk. As that friend if she's going to call a blue Smartcar a red Mercedes, and if the two are the same. The best thing to do is pray God opens his or her eyes.

It's a matter of judging the sin and not the person. We have to speak up about sin. If we don't then there is no reference point to base society's moral compass on.

Amen! The atheists would disagree, but morality has to have an origin to exist! It is not something imbued, but must be taught to mankind.
