Government expert on Elon Musk and DOGE's "slash-and-burn exercise"
Trump campaign funder and government disrupter Elon Musk has used unprecedented power to quickly eliminate thousands of federal jobs and shutter entire programs and agencies, using tactics that have raised questions about transparency.

There are other related articles about this, on the Google news page.
The use of evocative language (such as "slash-and-burn") is a bit unfortunate.
But the reality seems that the billionaires in industry and communication, seem to
be the new power block with Trump. This is a big point, that the article makes.
Unfortunately, as is the case with many journalistic sites, the reader will have to
dig through advertisements, in order to read the article.

The inability of the 2 party leadership to come together to pass reasonable
laws, had lead to an "all or nothing" approach to legislation in America.
-- And, this leads to getting almost nothing reasonable done.
-- And, this leads to a great deal of voter frustration.
-- and, this leads to the currently more powerful political party to think
that the only way to get anything positive done, is to try to intimidate the
3-branch system of the American government into submission, to pass
laws that are unconstitutional, and to threaten judges who will uphold the
constitutional principles of the fair rule of law in America.
The article points out that Musk has monetary conflicts of interest, in his
role of trying to decide who in the federal government, gets fired or
retained.
There is the open question of whether the president will use Musk as a
political "heat shield", and discard him whenever Musk becomes too great a
liability. Whether or not the president continues to support Musk, consumers
are voting to ditch his electric Tesla products.
As the president's slash and burn approach to reducing the federal government
gets bogged down in legal court cases (questioning whether or not the
executive has this power to fire...), expect to see more and more radical views
and explanations put out by the president.
