• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The OT was the books given to the children of Israel.
The books cover Israel's history, the laws God gave to the children of Israel, prophecy about Israel, about Jesus, and more.

The NT starts with 4 biographies of Jesus, the history of the early church, various letters to different churches instructing them, and a book of end-times prophecy.

That sums things up nicely.

As a new person to Christ and the Pentocost religion, I would suggest that you just read the NT to start off with.

God Bless

Thanks for the info.. Someone at the Sunday School I attended today gave me their NT right out of their pocket... I thought this was very nice..l Guess I better start reading :)

Hi Eviee - I responded to your other post as well about appearance at church.

When reading the NT, I just wanted to suggest that you first pray for God to reveal the Truth to you through His Word. Ask for the Holy Spirit to open your heart and mind. Enjoy!

Thank you all.. Wow this is alot to take in and alot to learn.. Guess I will take it one day at a time.. You all are the best :)

It does seem like a lot to learn, doesn't it? And running the forums will make you think that you'll have to pursue a degree in Divinity in order to understand all the dogmas and doctrines men and women have created over the course of human existance.

Take heart in this: if you know that Jesus is the Son of God, that He came to earth as a servant and that He died on a cross for you, and you have confessed with your mouth and believed it in your heart, you already know everything you need to know.

Now spend the rest of eternity learning about your best friend!

4) DO NOT get your primary information from internet chat rooms or websites that you do not know and explicitly trust. There are a lot of FALSE teachings out there on the web. The Bible warns us, "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." (Matthew 7:15 NKJV). Anyone can prove ANYTHING by taking Scriptures out of context, or by ignoring other scriptures. This is why it is so important to get yourself into a Bible believing church, and under the care of a local pastor that can answer your questions and guide you.
Allow God to bless you today!
