I was hoping you guys would be willing to help me. I am doing an assignment for college proving that Jesus was indeed the Messiah. I have taken the approach that this can be seen Biblically on two levels: Prophetically and also in reflections of things to come (eg. Isaac being offered on the alter as a reflection of Christ's crucifiction).
While I have a bit of information on both of these areas I am wanting to make sure I have covered every single prophetic thing spoken of Jesus in the Old Testament. There are the obvious passages like Isaiah 53. But would you be willing to help me find any and every scripture you think pertains to this regardless of how obscure it might be?
Thank you.

Job longs for an advocate:

Job 9:

32 "He is not a man like me that I might answer him,
that we might confront each other in court.
33 If only there were someone to arbitrate between us, to lay his hand upon us both,
34 someone to remove God's rod from me,
so that his terror would frighten me no more. 35 Then I would speak up without fear of him,
but as it now stands with me, I cannot.

Later, he seems to know there is One!

Job 16:

19 Even now my witness is in heaven;
my advocate is on high.
20 My intercessor is my friend
as my eyes pour out tears to God; 21 on behalf of a man he pleads with God
as a man pleads for his friend.
And here is a wonderful expression of faith and trust in Him.
I LOVE this verse, which sustained me when I couldn't think beyond the simple but powerful affirmation:
Job 19:25
I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.

My redeemer lives, my Redeemer lives, my Redeemer lives!

OK, back to work, bye x

I am not sure anyone has plumbed the depths of OT typology. What a great study!
When I got saved in 71 one of the first things I did was to get a cheap paperback Bible (for a dollar if I recall) and a set of marker pens.
I went through the entire OT and marked every instance of where Jesus was spoken of either prophetically, in type, or in theophany.
I have to say that study grounded me in the faith. That Bible is long gone... but I loved it.

Basically everything in the Old points to Jesus. I know that that isnt very helpful but the feasts all point to Him or some aspect even future as well as back then if you want to concentrate the passover is the best for what I think you are talking of, Joseph, Adam, all the figures that you can think of you can see Jesus. Genesis is the first prediction of Jesus when the serpent was told by God that the woman would bruise his head. It is quite a comprehensive study you have settled on.

1. It's NOT possible that someone sees the Father and not die.
2.Exo. 6:2-3, "And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name YAHVEH was I not known to them."

God was seen, it was NOT the Father they saw. It was the son YAHSHUA! God Almighty!
