CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We were promised by ProfessorMom that we would be able to get them back. However, when the new pet system was rolled in, I asked her about getting my pet back, and now it appears that we may be able to have them back, but if so it's a long time away.

I am still optomistic that we will be getting our old pets back. A lot of programming is involved....and from what I had heard our programmer Sir Adrian and his wife just had a little one.

Do you have any saved pages from CF prior to the upgrade that has your pet on it? If so clip out your pet and save it as either a gif file or a jpg file - then upload it in your signature.

I doubt it. I didn't know anything about the upgrade until the site was suddenly down. I thought it was just for a day or so and that things would be the way they were before, not that we were in for as complete a redesign as we ended up with.

I will upload the pet here in a post in this thread when I am finished with it and then all you will need to do is right click copy it and save it to your computer and then upload it into your signature and youll have it to keep.

I had a full grown st bernard that I would love to have back. Is there any chance that the old can be brought back and that the owner would consider restoring some of the old features seeing as how so many have left because they are not happy. Two, is anyone working on the pets as far as coding and creating? I really want dogs and cats and real aniomals to come back.

there is a cat already as welll as a monkey...but those seem to be the only "real" animals at the moment....
IMHO I don't think we will get the old pets back - at least not the way they used to be...too much recoding involved and now that they've got the new system they won't recode the old....only chance would be to have the old pet types added to the new system which I think wouldn't so much be a matter of recoding but redrawing - and I don't know if they can add new pet types to the new system since it wasn't coded for this site - it might be running of another website (like the dollies are) and they might not be able to add images/pets to that....but again that's just what I think and I might be wrong on it
