Dear connman. To know your faults/sins, is a first step in the right direction. You need the Lord daily, keep praying and asking for strenght to resist. God will never force you, you have free will to say YES, or NO. God`s Holy Law will always reward the good things you do, Or you will have to deal with the consequences of the wrong/bad things. Start overcoming temptation, it will always lead you astray. I say this humbly and with love, connman. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

To get out of old habits, is the transform and renew your brain and heart.

Old habits can also be controlled by the enemy through his forces.

You can repent as much as you like if, you haven't confess and asked for forgiveness.

Also, the other part of release and freedom is forgiveness of others and yourself.

Repentance comes from you heart, and whatever comes from your heart comes from your mouth.

But, when we repent from our brain, then it normally is just only words and nothing else.

First off you need to really cleanse your hands and purify your heart.

Blessings.

I have a personal problem with myself. Each time I repent from my sins, after a while I tend to fall back to my old nature and habits.

How do I sincerely repent from my sins and say farewell to my old-self and become a new man in Christ?

Try, Try, and Try again!!!

We are human and have the flesh always waring against the soul.
But you never give up the good fight.

Saint Paul had a weakness he was never able to overcome. He asked the LORD to take it away. But the LORD told him:

OUT OF YOUR WEAKNESS YOU SHALL FIND YOUR GREATEST STRENGTH

Keep this in mind when you encounter another soul sinning. If you do, you will keep your nose to the ground knowing we are no better than any sinner. We need to do the work of the LORD in all humility.

LOVE

I think most of us have been in your shoes at one time or another. I know I have, and the only thing that protects me from repeating sinful habits is reading God's word daily. You also might want to get a correct understanding of repentance. I'm not saying you don't, but make sure you do. Remorse doesn't equate to repentance. True repentance means a complete change of heart and mind as it relates to sin. True repentance inevitably leads to action, and in time you will conquer even the most stubborn sins. But as others have commented, you have to be committed, patient, and persistent.
