anyone ever play this old classic for the PS1 called "Chrono Cross"?

I'm almost to the end of it, and so far I think it's great. OH, by the way, wait until New Game+ or Continue+ to fight the criosphinx and Dario. Those fights are way too hard, even with the "black plate".

Chrono Trigger was better by far. Square needs a new Chrono Trigger.

I somewhat agree. The storyline for Chrono Cross was good, just the battle system was well... PS [what does PS stand for? Pretty Stinky? Pretty Stupid? Oh.... can't say that here]. Having to pay attention to "Stamina" is a pain, especially when any character gets "Fatigued". I hope i get me net connection back up and work at home [assembly] jobs to full soon so I can play the REAL chrono Trigger [VIA Console Classix].

Chrono Trigger was amazing, and I bought Chrono Cross for PS1 on the strength of good reviews, but I never really got around to playing it.

Ya, CT was awesomely designed along with their music. I wish I had Broadband at the house so I could play CT on ConsoleClassix (mainly because the music is good (as in good enough to where you wanna buy the soundtrack), the stroyline is somewhat clear, and oh yes... The way Marle panics).

Thankfully, this sunday morning I finally whiped CC out. The last boss is a bit of a doozy, but in the end, it went out quite quickly (and I used the element combo needed for the "good" end). Suggestion: Make sure for the 1st THREE element levels to have 1 of EVERY element COLOR EQUIPPED, this makes the chances of getting the musical tones in the right order and firing off the awesomely BAD and worthless Unknown color element at the right time.

I have a funny video to post - someone copy pasted a guy's message from a Chrono Trigger forum and turned it into a movie. The end cracks me up. It's something that took me a while to realize how funny it is (I've watched this movie more than once).

While I didn't like CC as much as CT, I still thought it was a great game. I only got around to one new game + though before I lost interest. Very beautiful music and scenery. The battle system was unique; I both liked it and didn't. Overall I thought it was a pretty good game.

Does no one here emulate (this is aimed at the people who legally already own the system)? It doesn't take that great a computer to emulate a PS1, and unless you are typing on a Commodore 64, you can emulate a SNES. CT is very easy to get, and you can just stick in the disk for CC to play it.

Also, anyone here know anything about how Radical Dreamers ties in?

Ok, just wikied it. Basically, Radical Dreamers is Chrono Trigger 2, but we never released in America, and the style of the game is by far one of the most unique, basically a choose your own adventure novel with a few more complexities and slight graphics. It also sets the stage for Chrono Cross, though the whole if it seems terribly confusing. If you want to play it, you will have to emulate the SNES, or learn Japanese.
