AUTHORITY OF THE CHURCH

<B> Comment</B>: Hence the laws or precepts of the true church are founded upon the same authority as the commandments of God. For the church has authority to act in Christ's Name.
Ok read through this and read the comments, but my question is this. From reading the above, I took it that the church was responsible for your soul, is this true??
OK I don't really wanna do copy and paste and have alot reading to be done here. But the next thing is the infallibilty of the church.
The Bible teaches that the church has Christ always <I>with it</I> and the Holy Ghost always to guide it - not only during the first century but during all future ages.
<B> </B>Matt. 28:20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and, lo, I am with you <I>always, even unto the end</I> of the world. Amen.
<B> </B>John 14:16 - And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you <I>forever</I>.
<B> Comment</B>: Hence it is an insult to Christ and the Holy Spirit to say that God's Church fell into error and had to be reformed by Luther, Calvin and other men.
Ok if I am remembering history right Luther broke off cause of all the pennace that where having to be paid. Also I do believe during this time the Popes weren't exactly the holiest of men.
So guess my total point is, when did the Catholic church orginate??
So ignore the pastes lol, I need some catholocism history lessons lol?? anyone help me there.
