  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Who's willing to admit they read their horoscope?

Sometimes I do b/c they occasionally have general rational advice like "Be willing to listen or don't jump to conclusions", etc.

Am I going to be burned at the stake for saying that here?

And that begs another question - divination is prohibited in the OT, but yet there are several examples of divination being used by "the good guys" - the fleece thing, drawing lots to pick another apostle? What's with the apparent contradiction there?

I don't go out of my way to read them, but do read them occasionally. A former co-worker used to read hers religiously and would make me read it too. She never understood why I didn't *get* what it said. I never *got* why she thought them profound.

So long as you don't rely on them for daily edification, I think they're probably harmless. Sometimes, as you said, they remind you of things that you should do which is good.

My ex said he had a psych professor in college that handed everyone a horoscope as they entered the room one day. He instructed them all to read their horoscope once they sat down. Then, he asked those who thought their horoscope applied to them to raise their hand. Apparently, there was a general consensus that it was fitting. He then asked everyone to pass their horoscope to the person behind them. Once again they were asked to read it and see if it was fitting to them. My ex said that everyone had been handed the same exact horoscope.

So, like GNG said - I think they're too generic and each one sounds the same. I read them sometimes for fun, but I don't put any stock in them whatsoever.
