  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's actually not one of his better tunes. It's on the "Illuminate" CD, which came out in '03, and there are a few songs on it that are better than OPH, like Open Skies, Deliver Me, and Stars.

If you really want to get into Crowder, get his brand-new CD called "Collision (Or 3 + 4 = 7)". It's the best disc he's put out since "Can You Hear Us"...

O Praise Him is great but IMHO it's better musically than it is lyrically. I also agree, he had better songs, I love Open SKies and Stars... Only You is really simplistic lyrically but then again 1)Crowder's trademark and 2) that's not necessarily a problem, and I don't think it is in this case... simple song of surrender, beautiful in its simplicity.

I can't wait for Collision, the little I have heard excites me... Crowder is a musical genius!

Has anybody hear the remix of Oh Praise Him on the Sunsets and Sushi album???

Has anybody heard of the Sunsets and Sushi album at all? Basically they took 8 tunes and remixed them. Its pretty sweet. Its fun to bump praise music in your truck and everybody is asking what your bumpin' and your just like 'oh some praise songs by david crowder...' :p

Just got Collision... man that is something else...Crowder is getting more and more diverse and man can that guy play? And not just guitar but piano!! Wow

Yeah Grant I have heard most of Sunsets and Sushi and it sounds crazy but a lot of fun... but some of the tracks do sound better in their original. Still I would like to get the book and see his perspective... anyone who can get into his mind would see a lot of wonderful things I am sure, Crowder is sure a really deep thinker! Great stuff!

Oh yes. There isn't much David Crowder could do that I wouldn't like. I think Collision is his best work, though, by far.

I hate to admit it, but Crowder is the only P & W artist I listen to. I hear Hillsong United is good, though...

Take it from me foo, Crowder is a lot better... United's ok and they are getting better... but I guess I'm sick of them here in Oz, considering i love 10 mins drive from Hillsong.... and their music really isn't progressing much... one song here and there sound different but it sounds all samey... with Crowder there are so few songs of this that sound like one another... he's fast becoming my fave...

Yeah, I love how each album is different. You can really follow the band's musical journey starting with UBC's All I Can Say. I love all of their albums. Just when they begin to get old (I'm exaggerating; they're never old to me), they come out with a new album that's completely new and fresh. That's talent!

:amen: I totally agree, they so stand out! Come to think of it, Passion so stands out and it's funny because it's not as if the other artists are terribly different in sound... but they are just enough to distinguish themselves. But far more importantly, there is tremendous unity, it's so obvious. Where unity is, God commands a blessing. I listen to Chris Tomlin and it's not as if his songs sound nearly as different as Crowder and band - but just the same I get this impression that both artists have something new to say, unlike so much worship music these days, it all sounds the same. Both of these guys are fresh in different ways, and I love that! Anyhow this is about DC*B, yes they are without doubt the freshest sounding Christian band I am aware of... you know Zach Lind (Jimmy Eat World) said that it's so clear that God is at work through these guys... he played drums with them on Illuminate. I see DC*B as trailblazers... it's been about ten or so years since I can recall anyone else changing music like these guys are... for the time, I reckon Delirious and Hillsong were trendsetters... but both are getting a little stale. Still good music but not much new and fresh... DC*B rocks!!!
