Hi...
I know I am not a parent... but I do have Asperger's Syndrome with many ADHD symptoms... and have over 20 years experience working with kids of all walks of life... the ones I work best with have been those diagnosed with ADHD... and those whom I think have AS but had not been diagnosed.

I do not want to step on any toes... nor do I want to "butt in" to parents needing to relate...

I would like to offer my intropection to those who wish for some new and creative ideas to some issues you may find yourself in.

I was with a parenting group for children with AS and they loved my insight and tips to help them help their children.

I have since moved and have not found a group to work with. But again I am simply here to be an additional resource... but if I do not belong I hope that someone would please be so kind to be forward and honest enough to let me know that this is not the kind of help you are looking for...

however, if you would like some insight from a different perspective please simply post here...or PM me if you like.

Tad

 Thank you for your generous offer. I can't see how your stepping on toes at all. I for one think having input from someone who can more relate to my kid's perspective would be nice.
We're still on the road to dx. My daughter has apects of ADHD and Asperger's, but we don't think either are really where she is.
Again hi and thank you.

well I am all for an early diagnosis... I am going through trauma therapy now... I landed there for a different reason but I am addressing so many of my AS stuff... alot of the symptoms are the same as PTSD symptoms. Being on the spectrum is very much traumatic. And the earlier the diagnosis the better I think. And I am developing and learning new ways of aquiring social skills and better coping mechanisms... but I have a long road to hoe. And it sounds like you do too. Hang in there though... you will get through it.
