  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi All,
Well, I'm driving to PA to hike for 2 or 3 days on the Appalachian Trail. 1st day I have a 15 mile hike planned. Then I'll have to ride my bike back to the car. They are saying the weather is going to be good, so should be a gerat weekend to be out in God's creation.

:)

Have a great trip! When you get back I don't get the BBM above. Are you hiking and carrying your bike and then riding it back? You know me, I have a hard time with words.
Can't wait to hear about your trip with PICTURES (hint hint;))

I had a good trip. God a phone call from my best friend. His father passed away. So I had to plan to get home eariler.

My 1st hike was 16 miles. It was past a very popular hike in PA called the Pinicle. It's said to be the best view from the AT in PA. I can concure with that. I was luckly and 3 other hikers gave me a ride from where I parked to where I was to start hiking. The 1st 6 miles I had the trail all to myself. After that I got to the part of the trail where the crowds were. I meet two couples and got to interact wtih them about hiking and other things. Sure helped the hike go better.

The second day I decided to hike 10 miles. I dropped my bike at the north end and drove to the south end of the trail. I started hiking at 8 am. This trail had very views. So only a handful of people were hiking it. It was a sunny day with really nice temps. Got to where I left my bike at 12:30, ate lunch and then biked back to my car. 12 miles 50 mins.

Then I started by drive back to MA so I could be at the wake for my freind. But since I got to CT before stopping for the night. I stopped in MA and hiked 5 miles on the Mid-State Trail. Against biked back to my car.

So a great weekend.

Ya, by myself. GF would like to go on short hikes, to a water falls or something. But she doesn't walk fast enough to do the distances that I do on a hiking weekend like that.

Plus right now she has virtigo (dizzy most of the time).
