• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Brother,

I do not think that even having that question in your heart allows for blaspheming the Holy Spirit. I have just read this article, and I think it may help:

What is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit?

And I think the question is, Have you ever specifically seen the Holy Spirit AT WORK, and gone on to claim that the fruit of that work was produced by The Devil Instead? Because that's what happened in the example of it with Jesus and the Pharisees Mathew:12:24

Second of all, your world view has a lot to do with your ability to see Jesus in His truest form. And we live in an age of heightened intelligence, connectivity in oneness through the internet, and a multitude of religions. The more deceived you are by different aspects of this culture .... Science, religions, sexual behavior ... the more "Christ Logic" seems abnormal to your "real world logic" ( Which was slowly made up by man)

For me, faith is easier the more I let go of the trappings.

THIRDLY

If you have said to Jesus out loud and with sincere belief that you accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that He ISNT, and that because of this he has the right to die for your sins, did so, and you accept that fact and ask Him to include you because of your belief that it's real.... You're good.

The only person blaming you now is the devil himself.

Now you gotta just keep growing in Christ, and realize that NOW THAT YOU KNOW JESUS SATAN IS GOING TO TRY HARDER TO TRICK YOU

It's not going to get easier. Keep praying, keep reading the Bible, arm yourself. I love you

It DOES get easier the more you are armed with the scripture though. Like when Jesus was tempted by satan VOCALLY, just like you are. All He did was calmly quote scripture that related to what happened and the devil went away eventually

The devil is telling you that you dont deserve to be saved, but that's HIM. He's just mad about that, and jealous that you are made in God's image and have a way out because God loves you THE MOST

Think about what kind of jealousy that could cause, and to what end an eternal being who knows his fate would go to to drag you down with him. And so all this depression and anxiety is JUST THAT. It's his, and he's giving it to you. Do not accept that gift my friend, it is given in hate

And If your OCD is causing you to seek your memory for any possible scenario when you have seen the power of the Holy Spirit at work ...

I don't think that's something that is possible to miss. I think the Pharisees were filled with the devil and were "lead" to say those things in direct offense to the Son of Man.

I know I'm going on and on in this thread, but I am worried... I have my own anxieties I suppose, and have been in your position.

I openly threatened God the Father in my shower, while my wife was on her death bed three years ago. I said I would purposefully use my talents against Him if He took my wife. Well, He did.

But also in that ecperience, while i was saying every curse known on earth, the Holy Spirit spoke up... My Dearest Friend. His presence was calming. I could never do anything but cry tears and say sorry to That One. Do you feel that way?

It takes far more faith to follow God and pray when you doubt than someone who never questions. Your doubt is the result of a mental disorder rather than pride or willful ignorance.
What you describe is normal with OCD don't give up, the more active the mind the harder it is to trust and let God guide you. Next to impossible often times. God will often use your hardship to speak and help others with their own issues. This has and continues to happen to me. Don't fear or worry about your faith deep inside you know the truth and what you believe your brain is just malfunctioning. I highly recommend seeing a psychiatrist who specializes in OCD. This helped me tremendously. There was definitely still work and prayer afterward but you wouldn't refuse a cast if you broke your leg. The same goes with regulating your neurotransmitters.
I'm praying for you.

Im so sorry for your loss.

I dont really cry over my sins if thats what you mean. I wish i did. Its not that i like my sins, i just dont get really upset. Also part of the reason i feel maybe im not really repentant

Well, maybe you have something blocking your ability to feel God's pain toward sin. Some ancient hurt i your past, or a chemical imbalance? Even some medications can have some Luciferian affects on your brain. I read an article about the bio microchip implant technology, and they were going over labeling specific gene in your DNA as being responsible for "Godly superstition" get rid of it, No more Holy Spirit talks. Something to consider.

Kywy, OCD is not destroying your faith. It's only making you feel like it is. I know I've asked this before, but are you in therapy for your OCD? It sounds like it's taking a real toll on your quality of life. I encourage you to keep treating your obsessions like OCD - because that's what they are. Instead of listening to your feelings, move ahead as though these doubts and fears are OCD, no matter how much you question that. It might take a lot of hard work and perseverance, but your brain will eventually be able to see more clearly, and you will develop more normal and healthy feelings. Keep pushing through this fog and distress. Freedom is ahead!

Also, don't expect too much of yourself while you are being obsessive. Do your best to fight your fears by praying, reading God's Word, and praising Him even when you're afraid to, but don't expect yourself to be doing all that at a "normal" level - just as when you're physically ill, you can't expect yourself to be doing all your normal activities. You will be able to have a healthier spiritual life as you heal from OCD. It may be that you will more gradually grow into a "normal" spiritual life, because healing takes time.
