Revelation 13:16
"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads"

Now, I would like to raise a question from an ex-pagan/occultist. Though now, I've dedicated my life to the one and only true God. When reading this chapter, I was struck with shame and fear - I've been marked with tattoos (on my right hand no less) that relate to the occult. I can't help but feel I am in constant battle with something evil. Being rather new in my journey here, I have prayed and I have repented, I have cried with Christ. What further action could I take to show repentance and are there any possible ways I could know if there any demonic entities surrounding me and what I could do about it?

Thank you kindly in advance Brothers and Sisters.

Focusing on what you have left behind is not really leaving it behind is it. If you have repented and understand how the new way outshines the past, then all you need do is live according to the will of the Father which is love all as self. Set aside self interest and previous interest in the ways of the world to instead take interest in the well being of others.

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

The mark allows the person to buy or sell which is to buy or work. Your tats aren't meant for that so you didn't get the mark of the beast. Plus, that only happens when the antichrist is ruling the world and that hasn't started yet.

The bible does speak against tattoos but only in the OT, not in the NT so it isn't a sin for a Christian to get or have tattoos but there are some people who will says it's still a sin.

Thanks for your replies, I'm constantly learning and have a lot to learn. Wishing you all well and thanks.

The mark of the beast is also tied to worship.
Revelation 14:9
9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand,

No one can accidentally worship something so no one will stumble into this unknowingly.

Tattoos would fall more under the body as a temple. But so does food and modest clothing.

1 Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

If you have occultist tattoos you might want to look into getting them removed or you might not, they could also be used as a talking point for ministry so it really depends what God puts on your heart. Just because one person does something does not mean he calls all to do the same. It would be something to pray about.

Look into the cost and procedure for getting them removed and find a local Roman Catholic Parish and ask to meet with the priest.

Ask the priest about discerning of spirits, because you are concerned about attachments due to your past.

Search online for the parishes in your area and call ahead to see if they have anyone willing to speak with you about exorcism.

An exorcist will be the only one to discern if you have anything evil hanging about your person.

To merit the grace of God in this endeavor, you will also need to ask about how you get into a state of grace.

Even the Saints had to deal with the demonic while here in this world. It was very common for Jesus to go and cast them out of people.

It is a legitimate ministry of the Roman Catholic Church.

I truly sense that you need some Latin prayers of exorcism said over you.

IN the meanwhile, you can start to pray binding prayers at home, to bind any evil spirits that may be attached to yourself.

There is a nice app for free called Auxilliam Christianorum that you can get on your smartphone and carry around with you and say the prayers every day.

There is also the website with them on it here: Auxilium Christianorum

You only have authority over yourself and no one else.

Therefore you can start ordering any evil spirits to leave, right now.

It's really to bad that when someone renounces their old life and dedicate their new life to Jesus, their tattoos can't be washed away with their past sins as part of that fresh start. Not that having those tattoos is any kind of continuance of sin. And they can also serve the Lord by being used in testimony. A Christian can use them to show others where they were at before coming to Jesus, and how much of a transformation has taken place.

To help address " ...feel I am in constant battle with something evil."

God's armor:
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" Eph 6

First, the passage from Revelation is referring to something else.

Second, you may be battling against evil forces, but having the tattoos isn't the reason. You've renounced that way of life, and that's what matters. However, I'd agree with those who have advised you to cover, remove, or alter those tattoos if only for peace of mind.

Thank you for your advice, I feel a pull towards getting them removed. Money sadly is an issue due to having a family now but I will keep them covered until I can finally get them removed. I appreciate the help so much. God Bless.

Thank you for your understanding, it's what I've been praying for and also being thankful I've been brought from such a dark place. I understand I'm not to feel shame but to have these tattoos does make me feel somewhat of a misfit within church especially. I think I feel the pull to remove them when I have the financial means necessary. Thank you and God Bless.

In Rev just before that its written those whos names are written in the lambs book from the foundation of the world will never worship the beast. See so many jump to taking the mark yet everyone has to worship or you die before the mark ever happens. Now since your NAME IS WRITTEN in the lambs book you never have nothing to fear.

So sis tattoos are just that no more no less. The enemy uses fear and can not tell the truth only lie. So flip what he says :) You have no fear since God your FATHER HELLO! Has not given you the spirit of fear but power and love and a sound mind. For you ARE strong in the lord in the power of HIS might. You have the JOY of lord your FATHER!

So rejoice your name is written in heaven. Again a tattoo is not the mark..
