ne byð þam ge-demed þe on hym ge-lyfð. Se þe ge ne lyfð (sic) hym. byð ge-demed. for-þan þe he ne lyfde on þanne namen þas akennedan godes sunu. - Iohannes 3.18
God's love wants to save you from the wrath of a fiery hell. There's such a powerful delusion afoot here when people utterly reject the Creator of the Universe, and would rather choose something they have no clue what it entails. It's like choosing total darkness & suffering over love & light, & peace for all eternity. When you put it like this, I'd rather be tossed into hellfire than spend eternity with such a being.
I see no reason to think that the Universe has a creator.God's love wants to save you from the wrath of a fiery hell. I see my error, Icelandic uses the same character set. I didn't see any familiar words about volcanoes so I didn't lock into any meaning. (I don't care how old it is, I'm not interested.)Hans, it's not Icelandic, it's 1175 English from the Wessex Bible.
Its amazing how English has evolved over the centuries.ne byð þam ge-demed þe on hym ge-lyfð. Se þe ge ne lyfð (sic) hym. byð ge-demed. for-þan þe he ne lyfde on þanne namen þas akennedan godes sunu. - Iohannes 3.18

Yes, and they were all unconvincing. Mysteries are not miracles. Questions are not evidence. Ancient stories are not proof.PS: I've investigated my beliefs also, and found them completely justified.
Ever read Case For Christ by Lee Strobel, or Evidence that Demands a Verdict, More Evidence, and More than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell, or look at any of the Creation science evidences?
What I like about the original post is that it is a direct reminder of many of the things that I don't like about the Christian religion. In many ways Christianity is the opposite of my philosophy in life. One of the basic principles of communication is to tailor your message to your audience - something this post has failed to do.

To me people are not automatically sinners needing to atone and repent for being themselves. But in fact people are wonderfully individuals, living out their lives, finding purpose and joy overcoming obstacles and continually learning and experiencing. There is nothing wrong with being who you are. There is no shame in making mistakes. We do not need to atone, the only forgiveness we need need comes from ourselves. We are worthy, we are special. There is nothing wrong with being human, nothing wrong with growing and learning. Nothing wrong with our hearts, nothing wrong with not believing in imaginary things. No one died for us, we owe nothing, we should live life guilt free.
Anyway, thanks for the reminder
What will you do when you are in miserable, cold Hel after your death because you didn't die in battle and weren't taken to Asgard by the Valkyries to feast and fight in Asgard until Ragnarok? But, what shall you do in the end, if you discover it is all true after all? That you are indeed a sinner, and in need of a Saviour, and that Jesus Christ did in fact die to atone for your sin, and you knew this obviously from reading on this forum, yet refused to believe and rejected so great a salvation?
Forgiving ourselves is fine, but forgiving others is better, and the forgiveness that comes from God alone is the forgiveness that is best, for this forgiveness must be received if we are to be saved, and inherit eternal life.
If I discover convincing evidence, I will be convinced. But, what shall you do in the end, if you discover it is all true after all?

'My god can beat up your god.'The Anunnaki Watchers Odin and Thor and the rest of the Aesir shall be defeated in battle by Yeshua the Messiah. I honestly do not know what shall become of them after that.

I think mead is probable. Then again, the norse gods don't strike me as very picky with their alcoholic beverages.
