I'm really nervous about not getting into nursing school. Its hard to transfer credits from a different university to a nursing school so I am only able to apply to one (Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center). It is the scariest thing to think about - What if I don't get in? What will I do? Wait another year? Take more classes? Change my major? Get a job? Hope God sends me a millionare to marry right away
? (lol, only kidding about the last one).
I've been praying about it unceasingly. It has been kind of a downer. I've got a good GPA but nursing school is very competitive, there are so many people applying. People tend to think just because there is a nursing shortage that they are accepting more nurses into schools to make up for it. Its the opposite - there are hardly enough nursing teachers to teach so they can't do that. The nursing teachers get paid squat for their degrees. (They could make more working in a hospital most likely).
I would rather get my degree in education and teach elementary, but my father won't allow me to get "one of those **** degrees where you can't advance". Nursing is my next option. (I can always get my teaching certificate later. In Texas you only have to have a bachelors degree in anything to teach whatever youd like. I don't know if it is like this in other states)
I just had to vent, thanks
