Numbers 15:30-31
But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.
Because he had no respect for the word of the Lord, and did not keep his law, that man will be cut off without mercy and his sin will be on him.
Notice that last verse, that man will be cut off without mercy and his sin will be on him. (his iniquity shall be on him)
Such a person has gotten themselves into such a state that they are cut off from mercy and must bear the full weight of their sins as there is no forgiveness from God for such a person. This would likely explain the huge weight crushing burden of Guilt that I cannot get rid of no matter how many times I pray.
