• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Numbers 15:30-31

But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

Because he had no respect for the word of the Lord, and did not keep his law, that man will be cut off without mercy and his sin will be on him.

Notice that last verse, that man will be cut off without mercy and his sin will be on him. (his iniquity shall be on him)

Such a person has gotten themselves into such a state that they are cut off from mercy and must bear the full weight of their sins as there is no forgiveness from God for such a person. This would likely explain the huge weight crushing burden of Guilt that I cannot get rid of no matter how many times I pray.

Robert none of this applies to you nor does it apply to anyone in the church we are in the day of grace . We are not under the law and you are really reading into this passage something that doesn't apply to you ..

This is NOT nor can be an example of you ..its really not possible .

Robert I want you to please recognize this as proof it's self that your ocd is trying to twist this and anything damning to apply to you. & none of it does...its ocd.
I agree with keryakos and Caty here. There were a lot of things which had VERY severe punishments under the Old Testament law.
It is the OCD that makes you zero in on any condemning verse.

It's also ironic to me how we all can recognize someone ELSE's OCD, but often not our own....

King David, even though he lived under the law still did not die without mecry. He cried out for mercy and received it from the God who delights in mercy and says mercy triumphs over justice.
The letter of the law killeth but the Spirit giveth life.
Even though king David was under the law he was not cut off from the people. Why,because David was living by faith,David was not trying to gain righteousness on his own.No David was counting on God to cleanse him and his heart.
David knew about mecry and forgiveness and trusted God and so he cried out to God to forgive him and cleanse him and change his heart and renew a right spirit within him.He trusted God.

It is not impossible for the God of mercy to have mercy. It is not impossible for the God who came and died for us to forgive us and wash us clean. It is His nature to save and have mercy and love.It is His nature to be long suffering and patient and to heal.It is His Nature to save and as our Saviour who took our punishment and washed us clean in His own blood,He also gives us His righteousness,He provides our salvation from start to finish. He is Mighty to save.

We do not have to stand in front of God all terrified trying to fix our selves, while we know it is impossible because our righteousness is as filthy rags to God.So God because of His great love came and took our punishment and provided us His own righteousness through Jesus.Jesus is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousnesss,We simply come as little children and know Jesus will in no wise cast us out because He is trustworthy and a glorious Saviour. Whososever believeth in Him shall not be ashamed.

30What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

These verses were for people under the law, who were trying to be justified in their own righteousness. But since that is impossible that is why God sent His Son as God in the flesh to die for our sins, now we are under grace. All we must do now is allow God to forgive us and account Christs' righteousness to us, our works of the law no longer matter, only beliveing in Jesus and His finished work on the cross that has been accounted to us.
