well. my dogs finally got better so now my 15-year-old cat has bad kidney failure.
she's the best friend I"ve had for years. Right now I'm at work and my mom called and said she had 2 seizures in the past hour or so... we decided against taking her to the emergency vet since it'd just cost hundreds of dollars and they probably can't fix it anyway. So please pray for us both!!
but also I wanted to mention that my cat always ate Purina One dry food, the kind that prevents urinary tract infections. I just found out that those foods that stop UT problems are higher in acid than normal food, which can make your cat get kidney failure. No way to know if it CAUSED this problem, but it definitely sped it up. And also, when your cat gets to be about 7, talk to your vet about switching to a lower-protein, higher-fat, lower-salt/phosphorous food. so you don't wind up like my kitty!!

but she was right. apparently it was high blood pressure which resulted from the kidney disease but also from not eating enough (low protein). So now we gave her Pet-tinic, which is a vitamin B and Iron liquid supplement, on her food and she is eating more. (if your pet ever won't eat... I can vouch for this stuff!) So now she seems better... the vet said her kidneys seem to be doing pretty well. thanks for your prayers!!
