Novel/Book Writing Programs

I've been trying to find some kind of program that can aid me in writing a novel. I'd tried the Power Structure programs but they didn't work too well. (I don't know the link sorry.)

I'm looking for a freeware program mainly, not something I have to pay for because I'm broke right now.

Does anyone know of any type of program that can help me with a novel or book I'm writing?

I am looking into the ones listed in Writers Digest, they may also have linkgs to freeware. But they may also have links to demos. The one that is best is the one that you will use. Regardless of the amount it may cost it is worthless if you dont use it.
