Not sure how to start...

I'm a new member today. I've come to this site because i'm trying to find out if organized religion is something i've been looking for. I do not attend church, and my name suggests a history in Jewish Religion, though i have not been formally raised as such. I am conscientious of that background, but I do not believe strongly in it.

Perhaps someone here can tell me what i should do, or read, to guide me?

I do have a copy of "The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures" that a neighbor gave to me some time ago.

Hi! It's good that you have a Bible, although I feel that it's necessary to warn you that the New World Translation has several intentional translation errors that were put in place to fit the teaching of the Watchtower society (for example, John 1:1 is translated as "the Word was a god" rather than "the Word was God")

You should investigate and ask questions about your faith. You should also consider acquiring a different Bible.

Go to www.Bible.com and look at several of the choices.

Remember, paraphased is diferent from a version which is different from a translation.
