Has anybody seen reruns of shows they used to love...only to realize that somehow the show didn't age very well?

My wife and I were really excited about seeing the Welcome Back, Kotter marathon on TV Land a while back. We only made it through two episodes before we looked at each other and grabbed for the remote!

Sorry, Horshack!

Depends on the show - when I was growing up I remember thinking how exciting "Emergency" was. Now that I'm an adult with almost 30 years in the medical field I realize that it was very hokey and the script very stilted.

Some shows though do stand the test of time. I still think "WKRP in Cincinnati" is funny. And I've probably seen every episode of "M*A*S*H" at least 30 times (many more than that). One of the cable shows is running episodes of "Chicago Hope" which started on the air at the same time as "ER". It only lasted ~4-5 seasons but seeing it now, I think it's better than "ER."

Yeah, but alot of those shows are still better than the junk that's on prime time now.

That's true!! I still love to watch I Love Lucy, and Gilligan's Island reruns!! Oh, and Beverly Hillbillies!

I have 20 years in EMS and I quite agree.
Although ,I will say Johnny and Roy were a big influence in my interest in EMS.

I loved Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched)--catch it when I can...

Me too! You know, a lot of people complain about the programs today with witches) ( Charmed, Harry Potter, etc) but, you know, I have never seen any thing on those that we didn't see on Bewitched almost 40 years ago!

I guess their hypothesis about such things creating wiccans has already been disproven then because I loved those shows, too.
Not to mention Bedknobs and Broomsticks with Angela Landsbury. Remember that one?
