uh...no not really a myth. i'd say at least 50/50. so about half? but i think it's more. i can name at least 5 people right off the top of my head who has a gun. so, i don't think that was totally inacurate,. what about GB (is that right the name for your country)?

UK I think is used more than GB.
UK used to be a pretty Gun-Free country, unfortunatley, that has been changing over the last few years.

so you don't like guns? you'd better not come here then, lol. there really are guns everywhere. i guess it doesn't surprise you that i like guns. i even shot one once. though i have to admit, i screamed like the big girl i am. my dad said though when guns are outlawed only the outlaws will have guns.
Not as much as I used to, but yes I ride with my wife and daughter a lot in the summer.

I have to admit that the whole Gun-Mentality thing frightens me somewhat....although I do love playing UT2004 (but then thats only a game of course)
Don't you think there needs to be something to try to de-escalate violence however? Surely Guns only escalate violence?
no. not really. i mean evil and violence has always been with us and will always be with us and if someone has a gun and is trained very well in the use of it, they can use it to save their life and possibly the lives of their families if something ever happened. there was a story of a grandmother about a year ago here who had a gun and someone broke in. she shot him and prevented him robbing her and possibly killing her. so, not really. but again i'm from Texas. when you're from Texas you're pretty much raised around guns. so to me, there is nothing unusual about them.
