  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There was a program on the BBC in the UK last night about a reporter who recently went to N.Korea. We saw pictures of hospitals empty, farms with no animals, people scavenging, poverty, factories not producing, queues, power cuts and street children.

There was plenty of glittering statues of dead leaders and the military.

How can we help the people of N Korea get out of this terrible mess they have found themselves in.

I don't see how we can help at all. The people are in such a mess because of the leadership there, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

I hate North Korea :sigh:

Well, I wouldn't go that far.....

Honestly, the situation hasn't died down any, but their leader is hot-headed and young, so this may just be a phase or something. He probably just wants to prove his dominance over his Generals and officers.

I think the major problem also, is that the people of N. Korea are brainwashed from the day they're born to believe that their leader is deity. This makes them fiercely defend their government(god) without question, despite the situation they might be in.

Idk Metal. I think they know but are too scared to say anything because of fear of death.

I recently saw a documentary on the N. Korean people, and they even believe that the food drops we give them, are us paying homage to their leader. This is another lie perpetrated by their government.

I saw one of one of the Docors Without Borders doing eye surgery on an old woman, and at the end, she thanked the great leader for it. It's sad.

Exactly. As long as the people see their leader as deity, they will never rise against him or try to better their poverty.

Do you think it's our place to get involved?

Unfortunately, not directly. All we can/should do is offer aid to the people, and hope and pray they will come around. Military action will only hurt the innocent civilians as, like what Japan was prepared to do, they would put themselves between our military and their government.
