I eagerly counted down to yesterday...the release date for the Treasury of Daily Prayer. I have my copy pre-ordered...even spent the extra money for the "deluxe bonded leather" version...

AND THEY CHANGED THE RELEASE DATE TO NEXT FRIDAY!!

The blood sugar is eh right now. it was 120 this morning so I'm trying to figure out what was different from weds evening to thurs evening to make it that way. Only thing I can think of is that I had less exercise yesterday (just did laundry and other housework) and I didn't have a very good night's sleep. Both of which have effects on blood sugar. So, experimenting with the exercise today.

Yes. It has Scripture readings for each day, along with Psalmody, hymnody, confessions, Luther tidbits, and prayers.

Oooh, I want one! Thanks for the link, Synger. DH doesn't want to order it just yet, but is interested. We already have some liturgical prayers and daily scriptures that we use, but this looks really good.

Note that waiting will likely cost you to miss out on the sale price. That means $15 more for the regular version and $25 more for the deluxe.

I suspect the main reason for extending the release date at this point is that extends the sale until the new date. At that point, I believe they will go to the regular price.

I'm a bit concerned about the "paperback" edition. I had thought the regular edition would be hardbound, and the deluxe be leather, but from looking at it again it looks like the regular edition is paperbound. For that kind of money, I'm a bit leery of a paper binding. I may just go with the leather instead.

My church has a Resource Center where they offer books and items from Concordia Publishing, and I've already told them I want a copy of the Treasury. If anyone gets the regular edition, let us know how sturdy it is. I expect it will get some hard use, like my Bibles, and paperbound Bibles always fall apart on me. I prefer hardbound or leatherbound.

Kae, just be glad that the Treasury of Daily Prayer is not being put out by Nintendo. If it were you wouldn't see it 'til 2010.

The Lutheran Service Book is also quite a handy and edumacational resource and definitely worth having. I got mine last year for Christmas and I love it.

Yep, that's why I went with the bonded leather one. I'm hard on my books (by use, not by tossing 'em around!) and for something like this, I'd rather have hardcover or a better binding than trade paperback binding. Just too easy to lose pages with the TP binding.
