• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why not counter with a theist animation that actually uses good animation?

And it better not be fundamentalist.

no we wouldn't want to do that. We know how catholics disdain fundamental scripture as it was written stuff without it's meanings being decided for them.

And Prots, they just decide Scripture means, whatever they want it to: paying no mind to Holy Tradition, context, how the Church has traditionally interpreted, what the Holy Ghost has to say: the only thing that matters is "me and what i believe or think the Bible says."

I suppose then, that perhaps, vague and inaccurate generalisations may not in all probability be a good thing to keep perpetuating? May we concur on this point, at least? Perhaps then, in the future we could refrain from such disingenuous speech, if at all possible.

I suppose your cheap-shot at Catholics, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside, doesn't it?:|
Hm. Did it make Eucharisted feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside, is that why you attributed the same to Sheepdog?

Why is it we do this?

Is factionalism for factionalism's sake really allowed by church tradition? Is it an Apostolic pattern?

Well, fundamentalism is a form of extremism. It typically ignores scriptural context and how the Church has historically and traditionally interpreted Scripture; oftentimes malign even Lutherans, Anglicans, Episcopalians, and Methodists as even "too Catholic." The axiom of "Anywhere but Rome;" or "Nothing from Rome" or "as little from Rome or the appearance thereof, as possible."

I would expect more seasoned and calmer responses from Anglicans, Methodists, Lutherans, Orthodox, and Episcopalians than Fundies.

I was addressing Sheepdog's post; not Eucharisted's.
