  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Any other non-traditional students here? I just applied to go back to college at the ripe old age of 37. lol

I have decided to pursue an AS degree in paralegal studies. I just submitted my application online and am requesting transcripts, etc. The perk about the paralegal program is that the coursework is all online. This is a very attractive feature to me, especially since I am a non-traditional student. I work FT and have 3 young kids. So, this way I can sneak in school work whenever/wherever time allows. I hope. :prayer:

I'm on faculty at a Christian College and we have a relatively large number of students that aren't straight from high school. I would say 1/3 of our students are older than 25. Some are in the military, some delayed their education, and some just couldn't decide what God wanted them to do earlier in life. I think you get a lot more out of college when you're older and I know that (at least where I am) the younger students really look up to the older ones and respect them.

I simply couldn't figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. :D I always knew I was called to be a wife and a mommy. I just couldn't settle on a career path. I figure better late than never.

Thanks for the response. :)

Awesome. :) I hope everything'll go well for you!

You know, in my faculty the average age of this years freshmen is something like 26 which is huge compared to what you'd call traditional here LOL. :p Like nobody up here would work or do anything before college, but where I go to uni you cannot not know all these not-straight-from-high school-people which is pretty weird LOL.. :D But kinda fun too. So go you!
