That blind faith and religious dogma are akin to an infectious disease. As for what they can learn from my particular 'faith', why, the truth of course.

Hey folks;

Just popped in to say howdy.

This has turned into an amazing thread, good on you all. We're proving that it is possible for people of different faiths to talk and discuss without villifying each other.
If only the same respect could spread into other places I shall not
tread again.

I thought that Baha'u'llah had some Sufi training. Am I wrong?

That's something I went through for about an hour - so I don't really understand it fully (as I was in like 8th grade at the time - two years too early for it to have been 'cool' *sigh*)
However, if you'd like to make a latteral move to transendentalist it's much more postive but basically the same thought line other than that

Hi D,

He was certainly familiar with Sufi beliefs, since He addressed them in several of His Writings. During His sojourn in the mountains of Kurdistan, He met with and taught a number of Sufis, as I recall. However, as far as I know He never received any instruction from Sufis (formal or otherwise).

I hope that is helpful.

Loving Greetings, Harmony

I've been visiting this thread on and off for a while now, and I am impressed. The fellowship here is truly inspiring.

This is interesting. I also enjoy learning about different faiths...
As do I. I have a special love for different religions, particulary non-Christian ones. I find it fascinating how all religions seems to teach the same basic truths, and the different ways in which they communicate them.

I'm glad "non-alternative" religious people are popping in to say hi too! (Christians in other words)

It's a slow moving thread, but we've been keeping it going bit by bit spurt by spurt
Many are greatful you started it...
