Thats fine you can address it. But that does not mean I have to agree to what you are saying for I take the full context of the scriptures.I am only addressing the teachings of a Pentecostal church which is SS and Protestant. The Pastor stated:
This sounds like women should not be teaching men.
And NT scripture says that women should be quiet.
Scripture says what it says whether one likes it or not.

Ingredients do no make a cake unless they are used as according to the recipe. This is why it is not a "church" but a Christian forum. I have not seen one Pastor here that claims he is the leader of this forum and that he does not want women participating in discussions. Why is that?
It seems we have all the ingredients for worship right here and right now.

I believe that you have a misconception about protestant teachings. Many out there. This is why I take what is said to the full context of what is written. I would have to look at their full teaching on this and then take what they teach to the scripture and line them up. This is what Sola scriptura is to me. Scripture is my measuring tool.MamaZ,
It is not my saying, it is a Protestant church that teaches this.
This is your church, Protestant, and not mine.
I am merely presenting a Protestant teaching that many Protetants believe. I am not saying if it is correct or not. To me, that is a Protestant issue.
But, theologically speaking, I am interested in the views of those here.

So If women can't be pastors or speak how do they participate in the church?
OP:
So If women can't be pastors or speak how do they participate in the church?
Just a question. If we follow those verses to the letter, without considering anything else, how do women participate in church?
1 Timothy 2:11-15
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
How could a woman be an effective preacher and remain silent??? How could she Pastor men without having authority over men? How could she teach men when she is specifically forbidden to do so in this passage? Here is another passage about silence to consider:
1 Corinthians 14:34
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.
The Bible teaches that women are not designed to be Pastors over men. They are designed to teach other women and children, but not men. I am sure that you could look out and find a woman who is a skillful preacher, but that does not change God's perfect Word. We are always better off functioning as God designed us to function. I hope that this is a help to you.
In Christ
Pastor Don
Jesus is with me whether I am gathered with no one. I am His temple so you confuse me a little here.. If I meet with a brother and sister in the Lord there He is in the midst of us. Does not mean we are going to a church setting. How is it different?
Do you recall what I posted regarding the bible studies I did with evangelicals. This was a Protestant group that met weekly or more that I was a part of.
We taught that scripture says where two or more are gathered in Jesus name that He is there. We taught this is the true meaning of Church. That one does not need a building to go to. That all we needed was to meet together in Jesus name. We also taugh that no man or woman is greater than another and so we needed no "pastor". That we are all pastors/priests/bishops/deacons.
That is what many of us do here. We meet at CF to discuss Jesus and so we meet in His name.
I really fail to see the difference between this and you meeting in a building with a pastor to do the same things we do here.

I'm not insulted either way and I dont have much opinion either about theI hope you are not insulted that I am using a Protestant SS argument instead of a Catholic one.
oboy! lolI just know that my buddy thinks women should be home raisong children and keeping the house and men should be hunters
Seems like it's biblcial...and be the leaders and the only voice of the church for man is the head of the church. Also, that women should be quiet.
[/QUOTE]Since he views forums of this nature to be corrupt and exposing oneself to evil, I doubt we will ever have him here to say as much. But I was able to provide something similiar from a church much like his.
What does the RC Catechism have to say about that topic? ThanksYou sound exactly like my buddy.
Yet, it seems you have a problem with his Protestant church and their teaching that women remain quiet and only teach women and children. Am I mistaken in that?

Read the scriptures Jack. Our body could meet at a park and have church. Doen't need to be in a building.Sounds like you have a different understanding of scripture than my evangelical friends. We needed no man to teach us or building to raised for us to be in Christ the true Church. We only needed to meet together as 2 or more in His name and we were that Church. We learned from God directly. We needed no man to tell us what the Holy Spirit could tell us. That is a Protestant church for my evangelical Protestant friends.
Are you saying you need a building and a man to teach you for it to be a Church?
I just noticed that thread is closed. How come?

My pastor is anti forums too... but not due to exposing oneself to evil as much
as wasting time and 'arguing'.

Nah...the other non-RCs here are doing a better job with that than I canGood.
Maybe you will post an answer and not a link.
