Where did Noah build the Ark?

Be specific please.

I say he built it in what is now New Jersey.

Be prepared to defend your position.

He built it next to Mrs. Noah, who brought him sandwiches. Two at a time.

I love the topic of Noah's ark, but we don't know where Noah lived.

Don't we get to find out why you think it was New Jersey?

Genesis 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

New Jersey Pine Barrens
Pines grow in many places in the world. And how do you know there were pine trees there before the flood?

Just a pet theory of mine.

Pine is very rot-resistant, so of course someone would attempt to make a connection between it's usefulness as boat material to Noah's Ark.

But
Nobody knows what gopher wood is- it's not mentioned anymore in the Bible, and the two default notions are that it was either a species of tree that died with the Flood- or is a tree alive today which was colloquially termed different in his era.

That was a reference to the pitch, not the gopher wood.

In other words, the pitch pine.

Upon a quick bit of research, it seems apparent that 'pitch' was a substance commonly coated on many things to make them resilient to the elements. It was a residue which would exist in the sunken deposits of the dead Sea.

'Gopher wood' may just be a general term for the main woods used in that time apart from useless or brittle wood. It could also be refined or hardened wood.

It's far more reasonable to assume Noah was from the East being that cypress is so similar to pine. As well, it's also mightily convenient that he would land on Mt. Ararat, of all other places.

That's what local floodies like to think.

They'll do anything ... anything ... to make it look like Noah live and worked in the same area as where the Flood started.

Even though God told Adam to move out of the area, even though the Flood was more than 1600 years after the Fall, even though the United States was populated end-to-end (a distance of 3000 miles) in less than 100 years, they will still believe that Noah, a preacher of righteous, hung around the same general area in clear disobedience to God's command.

Nope ... I don't buy it.

I believe Noah lived in the area that is now called "New Jersey."

King David doesn't seem to take the Flood as literally as being miles above the whole world.
Seriously, Psalm 104 gives pretty compelling evidence that David didn't recognize a global flood.

I personally don't believe there were any other people beyond the area in which the Deluge occurred- it wiped out man. I just don't see man having crossed the Atlantic or Pacific oceans in any of the time you posit.

Altogether, I feel that the story of the Flood was told in a way to inspire others of God's divine judgement; not to be taken exhaustively literal.

Unlikely.

If it had been New Jersey, then how would the animals have gotten to the ark?

As soon as the line of animals reached the bridge, Chris Christie would have interfered to make a traffic jam, and millions of species would have failed to reach the ark, and gone extinct.

Even though he said this?

Psalm 104:6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

There was no "Atlantic or Pacific" ocean.

There was only one big ocean: Panthalassa.

Yes, even.
Let the passage sink in, and you'll see what many people fail to see.

I don't believe man has been on Earth that long.
