  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

HEADLINES READ: Noah's Ark has been found!!! OK, I'm just being funny but, I think this is one of the coolest things I've seen in quite some time!

A gentleman in the Netherlands (Johan Huibers) has constructed an exact replica of Noah's Ark by using the original dimensions from the Bible. How cool is that? At a cost of $1.2 million dollars, this man built this craft because of a dream he had and he wants to use it as a message to modern day man... God is real and people need to pay serious attention! This is my message and not the words of Mr. Huiber btw.

We need more things like this in this crazy world today to get the attention of folks to start reading the Bible again and to get their lives right with God before it's too late! Here's the video about Noah's Ark.

One thing, I am a frequent poster on a Debate and Discussion board on another system. Most of the atheists there staunchly maintained that the Ark could not be built because no wooden vessel of that size would hold up long enough even to float, much less do with all those animals, supplies and so on. Now, I understand this isn't a purely wooden vessel, still it is mostly wood and it does, indeed, float.

Fark had an article on it a few days ago, headline said the vessel had no rudder. I imagine the original ark did, indeed, lack a rudder. Where would you steer to if the entire earth was flooded? Even the most modern navigational equipment we have today is kind of useless if there's nowhere to go and not until God makes dry land to get there.

The Creation Museum just south of Cincinnati hopes to build a full-sized Ark one day on their property (so it won't be a floating one). However, it will give us a taste here in the states.

For anyone who ever gets near Cincinnati, this is a cool museum. They have life sized diaramas that take you through the first 7 days ... and then into Genesis.

Also, for anyone who want to see a Christian viewpoint on science and biology given by very high level scientist, check on Answers in Genesis. Answers in Genesis - Creation, Evolution, Christian Apologetics

If you are interested to know what scientists also believe Creation...check out the long list of high level scientists (PhD and professors) that have asked to be listed as supporting the concept of creation as a science. Go to the above website...click "Get Answers" from the tool bar...and then choose "Creation Scientists"...and scroll through the long, long list of names. I know I have heard lectures from a NASA scientist and another by a retired professor from a major medical school (can't remember which one off the top of my head). The later taught a class on how to look at a skull and be able to identify what is distinctly human and what is distinctly ape...and why there is no such thing as anything in between. He explained it so well, that both my kids could understand.

You know, I've always heard about that museum in Cincinnati but in all those years on the open road, I never had the opportunity to stop and check it out? I do recall something about them mentioning Noah's Ark back in the mid 90's and was surprised to hear they hadn't started that yet? I guess funds make all the difference in the world when it comes to those kinds of things coming to fruitition???

I never did go in for that evolution thing that man came from apes? One thing I've learned over the years is, most of science is based on theory and to me I require 100% proof when it comes to anything man declares! I just watched Pastor Jesse Duplantis talk about this very thing todau on one of the TBN programs and he also pointed out to the congregation that most of science as we know it even today, is based strictly on theory and I yelled at the TV to let him know I agreed with him 100%, lol. I don't think he heard me though???

Yeah...it has to do with raising enough funds. They do have a small piece inside the museum within their Biblical diaramas which represents the construction of the ark...but it gives you sense of the size of the ark.

I also imagine some of the negative publicity with the one in the Netherlands probably has people shying away from contibuting...

Sadly, I think a lot of this is from Christians...saying that building this ark isn't the best use of God's money. However, this is about building faith and exposing people to the realities of God's word.

Amen! I have to agree whole heartedly!!!

Isn't that just like us humans? We always think we know better than God what to do with HIS money.
Reminds me of this little girl the other day at Kohl's. She was trying something on and her grandma (I think) asked her what the price tag said and she told her and then said "it's worth it!" We both laughed because of course the little girl wasn't paying for it with her money so of course it was worth it lol!

I just bought my daughter a beautiful and not so cheap skating costume. She has used ones that we have picked up at thrift stores but I bought this one for her first competition season..."because SHE is worth it". It is tangible evidence of how much her mother values her and values making sure she feels beautiful when she skates.

Our Heavenly Father is the same way...He believes that WE ARE WORTH whatever it takes to understand how big He is and how much He loves us. He loved us enough to have Noah build that ark...and He loves us enough to make sure we understand that it wasn't some child's toy or a childish story.

I totally agree with you. I remember when I bought my step daughter her first new skating dress (roller skating though)! I just thought it was funny that a little 5 something year old would say an outfit was totally worth it when she didn't have to pay for it. I'm sure you've experienced with your teenagers they are free-er with your money than if they had to spend their money on something (at least my boys are) I mean my older one has a job so he buys what he wants, but my younger son (14) does not care too much whether "I" think something is worth it or not. But if I say you could buy that with your money, sometimes he decides he doesn't really want it all that much (since he has to pay for it)

Yeah...I get it...and yeah, my kids spend my money faster than they spend theirs. However, once when I got a speeding ticket and my son was in the car, he offered to help me pay for it. (I told him that I earned this one so I got to pay it...just the same as if he earns one when he drives, I won't be paying it...however, I sure felt loved by my horrified son.)

...see you aren't the only one whose brain wanders...

However, God spends the money on the ark because He believes we are worth the money to help to understand Him...(same as me and a skating costume)...and it isn't "wasted" money like the complainers who believe that million plus dollars would have been better spent taking care of the poor. (so see, it did follow a logical train of thought ) :)

funny thing is though, that most of the complainer's probably don't help out the poor either.

Well looky here! They didn't bother to mention this in the video now did they? Replica = the same likeness of the original and I'm not sure if that means exactly the same size as the original???

I have several replicas of real old west guns but, they are also smaller in size than the originals so... are they true replicas? No, but they are still replicas just the same.

Thanks for sharing that link.
