Noah's Ark/Flood Lesson

We started doing a bi-monthly children's activity. I'm calling it "Children's Interactive Bible Lesson". Kinda like one VBS type lesson every other month. The first one I covered a big foam ball in blue papermache type tissue paper, hung it from the ceiling, and we went though creation with the kids adding pieces to the ball as we went.

This time we did Noah's Ark/Flood. I don't have any pictures of the actual activity as I was teaching it, bit our preacher took some that I haven't gotten from him yet.

I took some pictures of the "set" though, I had our Jr Youth Group (5-6 graders) help in the operation while I taught/interacted with the kiddos.

I think we're going to do the Tower of Babel next. Should be interesting!

The foundations for the Ziggurats are still there in Iraq. Saddam Hussein tried to rebuild some of that stuff.

Awesome! Come up with a moral for the story and have them repeat it as you sprinkle them with water. The more water you use, the more memorable it will be.

(I might be a bit late, but this idea can be modified for future lessons.)

Did kids help the animals get into the ark through that little door? What an awesome and creative way to tell the story!

That would have been awesome! But no, I had a bucket of little animals. I held them up and the kids yelled out what they were, then I literally tossed them through the door where one of my helpers caught them. The door has a fishing line drawstring and closes with magnets, so when I said that God closed the door it seemingly closed by itself. The kids ate it up!
