Hello!

A question for our Jewish friends here. What is Noahidism all about? Is it kinda like Judaism for non-Jews? Sounds interdasting.

Thanks for any info or comments!

The belief is that Noah was given seven laws for all mankind to follow. Well, technically he was given one as Adam had received the other six, but I'm not going to nitpick here.

The seven are:
The prohibition of Idolatry.
The prohibition of Murder.
The prohibition of Theft.
The prohibition of Sexual immorality.
The prohibition of Blasphemy.
The prohibition of eating flesh taken from an animal while it is still alive.
The requirement of maintaining courts to provide legal recourse.

Non-Jews are only required to keep these seven laws unlike Jews who are required to keep all 613 commandments of the Torah.

read up on it. Seems a good deal for non-Jews. Follow the laws, repent of your transgressions and slide on in to the World to Come. The laws seem straightforward and almost common sense. Idol worship and blasphemy are obviously important to avoid in regards to honoring HaShem. Prohibition and avoidance of murder, theft and sexual immorality are common sense. It's also nice that HaShem doesn't want animals to suffer. The law one seems difficult on the surface, but it more almost symbolic since there is no Torah based governments in the world that can legally practice Noahide Law, and according to some stuff I read, there won't be until the Messianic age. So a Capital offense should be seen as severe in the eyes of HaShem and not literally a Capital offense in our society today.

I might add that at the Church Council of Jerusalem which met to resolve the differences between Paul and the Apostles, James stated that gentile Christians need not be circumcised but should follow a list of rules all of which are taken from the Noachide Code.

If there is one God only, how can there be differences in laws whcih are supposed to be from Him ?

Because specific people agreed to a specific Covenant with Him while other people didn't agree to the same Covenant. It has nothing to do with there being multiple gods.

I'm sorry if you can't wrap your mind around it. I can't make it any more simple.

in other words: some of the people whom He created and ordered to follow something(covenants) He wanted disobeyed Him, therfore He made other Covenants!
He is free to make as many Covenants as He desires. But he specifically said that He would not break His one with us.
how many constitutions are there in one country?
How many contracts can one business make with different parties?
how many laws on the same matter are different in any country
Israel is a nation of people. It is a Covenant with the nation.
why is there Hell-Fire and Paradise?

There isn't Hell-Fire. We were never told of its existence and if it were so important we would have been.

(his people) is mentioned tens of times in the Holy Quran
most of them are used when reffering to the people of the Prophets
unlike the people of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) whom was sent to all mankind:

34:28. And We have not sent you (O Muhammad ) except as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most of men know not.

21:107. And We have sent you (O Muhammad ) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

I don't discuss scripture itself with people who are so uninterested in what it says and how it has been interpreted throughout history but only want to tear it down.

Our Tanakh basically says that when Messiah comes, you'll see we were right.
no Muslim nor Prophet Muhammad, nor the Holy Quran says that islam is a new religion, or deny any Prophet or Book from God :
Whatever. I don't like you enough to go into any sort of in depth conversation.

interestingly enough, i have the Tanakh on my Kindle so I read it from the point of view that the Hebrew Bible is all there is (no NT). It made much more sense. A favorite book of mine was Proverbs, and it really opened up reading it from this point of view.

If there is one God only, how can there be differences in laws whcih are supposed to be from Him ?

How can there not be? If you go to skilled physician will he prescribe the same remedy for strep throat as he does for a broken arm?

Did not Allah first decree that Jerusalem be the qiblih then change it to Mecca?

Did not Jesus drink wine, but Muhammad forbid it?

Did not Jesus prohibit divorce while Moses and Muhammad permitted it?

Does not one religion prohibit beef, while the other one forbids pork?

"The Prophets of God should be regarded as physicians whose task is to foster the well-being of the world and its peoples, that, through the spirit of oneness, they may heal the sickness of a divided humanity. To none is given the right to question their words or disparage their conduct, for they are the only ones who can claim to have understood the patient and to have correctly diagnosed its ailments. No man, however acute his perception, can ever hope to reach the heights which the wisdom and understanding of the Divine Physician have attained. Little wonder, then, if the treatment prescribed by the physician in this day should not be found to be identical with that which he prescribed before. How could it be otherwise when the ills affecting the sufferer necessitate at every stage of his sickness a special remedy? In like manner, every time the Prophets of God have illumined the world with the resplendent radiance of the Day Star of Divine knowledge, they have invariably summoned its peoples to embrace the light of God through such means as best befitted the exigencies of the age in which they appeared. They were thus able to scatter the darkness of ignorance, and to shed upon the world the glory of their own knowledge. It is towards the inmost essence of these Prophets, therefore, that the eye of every man of discernment must be directed, inasmuch as their one and only purpose hath always been to guide the erring, and give peace to the afflicted…. These are not days of prosperity and triumph. The whole of mankind is in the grip of manifold ills. Strive, therefore, to save its life through the wholesome medicine which the almighty hand of the unerring Physician hath prepared."

Hi gordRedeemed, there are Noahide communities online. We have a few people who atttend our congregation who are not Jewish and who could be classified as Noahides.
These are people who love Judaism and would convert in an instant but are not able to. They are involved in the congregation and community, but cannot become full members and therefore have a limited role. Other Noahides have no desire to convert but follow much of Judaism but not all of it, ie they observe the sabbath and the holy days, or keep kosher, but not in the manner that Jews do.
