  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I went to the hospital twice today. I couldn't feel the baby after getting a shock from a plug; I could feel the current going up my arm. Her heartbeat was strong and she was moving, but positioned so I couldn't feel her kicks.

So I decided to eat some take out with my sis and watch movies, but I started to spot. I've not had any spotting at all. I totally freaked out and called the OB on call. They had me come in because of my placenta previa. Everything checked out okay for now, but I can't go back to work.

Little Peanut sure didn't like the ultrasound though. She kicked at the doppler everytime it was in range of her little foot. I was really glad to see her heart beating and her little body dancing around.

Please pray that all goes well. I'd really prefer not to go on bedrest, but if it keeps Peanut safe, I'll do it in a heartbeat.

I'M SOOOOOOO BORED!!!!!! I may have to get cable. I don't want to complain, but I'm going to do it anyway. We don't have tv (cable or antenna) on purpose, but I don't know if I can lay there and read for 12-14 hours a day. My eyeballs hurt and I already watched my Netflix. It was a documentary on hotdogs...and now I really want a hot dog.

We had to cancel our trip to Maine, but it's okay. I think I'm going to buy some movies and hotdogs with the money we were saving to go there. Stinky poo farts!!!

Wow, sorry to sneak into your thread, but apart from the shock - snap! I had the same thing happen to me this weekend. It's so reassuring to hear that heartbeat though.

How far along are you again?
I'm being monitored from home now too:D which is much better than being in hospital at least. They asked me to 'take it easy' too, but didn't say bedrest for me. So I just don't go running at the moment or spend all day out walking. I still do everything else as usual. Has your spotting started to stop?

I wish the doctor would order me not to work.... I hate work right now... of course we'd be in a real financial bind if that were the case, and I really couldn't go on bedrest because i have a 3 year old and 9 month old to care for during the day...

but it'd be nice.

You have placenta previa? I bled with all pregnancies... but no placenta previa.... i haven't seen the doc yet with this one but been having bloody discharge atleast 3 different times now.... nope, no sex to cause it either. The only thing I can conclude is that my uterus is growing and stretching.

I'm sorry, I didn't see this post.

I'm 25 weeks this week. I only spotted until the next day. So I just layed around for a week. I went to the doctor on Monday and she said I could go back to my usual activities minus heavy lifting, running (not a problem), and frantic house cleaning (trying to pace myself).

Are you better now?

I do have placenta previa. They noticed it on my first ultrasound, so they were worried about preterm labor. After the first few days, bedrest got easier, but man. I felt like I had so much energy and it was so beautiful outside. It felt like some sort of torture device.

I hope that you're doing okay. If it happened with your other pregnancies, maybe that is just how your body works. This is my first, so I have no clue how my body is handling everythign.

It was kind of a bummer. I'm a pretty healthy person in general, so I figured everything with go without a hitch. It still could, but now I', a bit more cautious.

Yes, much better! Thank you!

It's nice to be past that 24 week viability thing isn't it?

Yes it still can. This pregnancy has been far from uncomplicated, and I've had two miscarriages. I don't understand why it would happen to me (I'm pretty fit and healthy) and yet a couple of people I know lead pretty unhealthy lifestyles imo and they have had child after child without any trouble at all. The way I see it, imagine how much worse it could have been if you weren't already fit and healthy.
