"No pants day" is something I was not aware of until now.

I'm very shocked at how people are trying to "normalize" sin, it's sick, especially with children watching. Yet in this world full of darkness, I know there is far greater sins happening that we know nothing about.

BBC News - Passengers remove trousers for No Pants Subway Ride

Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Matthew 18:6
but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

God's mercy endures still, he is slow to anger.

What an abomination this must be in his sight.

Matthew 18:7
"Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!

The evolution of societies impulses has kind evolved from a libertarian "Do what you want, 'cept don't tread on me or anyone else" to a "Do as you will, but harm none and receive consent from all parties." Currently, the consent part is rapidly falling out in all areas except for sexuality, since people are realizing that consent is so malleable as to be almost meaningless, and the harm part is all in the eye of the beholder. I give it ten years before we get to the whole "Do as thou wilt, and let that be the whole of the law." In other words if you don't want to harm people because you empathy that's good, but if that's not how you roll go for it as well.

Taking your trousers off is a sin? Because children might see it? Are you saying that children should never see underwear? What about bikinis - they're basically the same thing. Is wearing that within sight of children a sin?

And people wonder why Christianity is seen as prudish...

I personally find the idea quite amusing. There's not enough random chaos and nonsense in the world, so anything to make boring life more interesting is a good thing in my eyes.

They must have been freezing though.

For the record I don't see this as a horrible action per se, but I do find it highly symptomatic of a society that sees no meaning to actions besides that which the actor puts in them, i.e. that the will (or at the very least the combined will of the populace) is the master of external reality.

Yes, I can't imagine how angry God must get at men who don't wear pants in scotland. ^_^

Why was I not aware of this day? Not like I would have done it, but I find it very humorous.

But honestly, if you find this offensive...never been to a beach?

It isn't nudity - it isn't sinful. They do it for a laugh - they do it to make people laugh. And, I would wager a bet it works pretty well.

I fail to see how it "makes little ones stumble". Explain this to me? Then I might understand.

I chuckled. I don't see the sin in it... It's a silly joke done to get a laugh. Nobody was harmed. I'm familiar with this improv group and they do work to make sure their jokes are not too disruptive and people aren't hurt. Though personally I'd have to worry for the actors who sat on a New York subway seat with just underwear on. Blech!

One of my favorite jokes of theirs was when they broke into a musical at a mall food court. And I'm talking full scale, chorus-style, multi actor, random musical. Complete with dancing.

I don't find it sinful as much as I find it disgusting. Really, I don't want my hooha that close a public transit seat in New York. God only knows what's on them.

TRUTH. Man, you take your life in your hands if you go no-pants on the public transit.

But seriously, this seems harmless, silly and fun. I might agree that it was symptomatic of something bigger and terrible if something bad was happening, but I don't see the harm in this.

They did one in the produce section of a food store as well. They've also:

- Had dozens of people walk into a Best Buy store wearing khakis and blue polo's and start shopping. Best Buy called the police on that one and the police had to explain that the group wasn't doing anything illegal.
- Picked a random, new, no name band that was playing and had dozens of people memorize all their songs and show up to the show where normally only a couple people would show up. The band was mad at first when they found out it was joke, but came to appreciate it.
- Had a surprise wedding reception for a couple chosen at random who were getting married at city hall.
- Picked a random person at a local bar, gave him a fake persona, and threw him a birthday party. While the guy the did it to played along, he was pretty annoyed by it and never used any of the birthday presents he was given. the group called him up a year later, still referring to him using the fake persona, to plan another birthday party - he wasn't in to it.
- Held various "MP3 Projects" where hundreds/thousands of people download an MP3, and congregate in one public place. They then all start playing the MP3 at the same time and do what the song tells them to do.
- Had identical twins sit across from each other on the subway and mirror each other's movements in order to create a "human mirror"
- Replayed the same 1 minute scene over and over again in a Starbucks for about an hour. Apparently, it took people over twenty minutes to realize something weird was going on.

so typical of those new york yanks

And who really wants to see peoples crotches and big american cottage cheese butts on their way to work.

But this was world-wide! And for every dozen chubby butts, there's probably one hot person who makes it all worthwhile.
